HYDRODYNAMIC SEPARATOR
A separator unit includes a tank defining an internal volume and having an inlet and an outlet. A deck within the tank separates the tank into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. A weir at an upper side of the deck defines an inlet side atop the deck for receiving an influent liquid and an outlet side atop the deck, with a first opening through the deck on the inlet side for delivering liquid down into the lower chamber, and a second opening through the deck on the outlet side for delivering liquid from the lower chamber back up into the upper chamber. The separator includes one or more of an integrated drop pipe assembly with a dispersal manifold, a riser pipe with a vortex disrupting vane and/or a weir configuration that in part follows a periphery of the second opening.
Plate settler cover and method
The present invention is directed to a plate settler cover that prevents algae growth, prevents contamination from organic material, and provides structural support for a user who is standing or walking on the plate settler system. The plate settler covers can either float directly on standing water present in the system or may be structurally supported such that the plate cover is positioned above the surface of the water.
METHOD AND COVER SYSTEM FOR A LIQUID CONTAINMENT APPARATUS
The present invention is directed to a plate settler cover that prevents algae growth, prevents contamination from organic material, and provides structural support for a user who is standing or walking on the plate settler system. The plate settler covers can either float directly on standing water present in the system or may be structurally supported such that the plate cover is positioned above the surface of the water.
System for controlling waste water treatment in a waste water treatment plant
An adaptive waste water treatment plant includes an influent intake configured to receive an influent flow from a waste water influent stream. A first settling tank is in a controllable fluid communication with the influent intake. The first settling tank includes a first decanter in fluid communication with a first effluent discharge pipe. A first effluent discharge valve is communicatively coupled to a controller. A first flow meter is in communication with the controller and adapted to measure a rate of flow through the first effluent discharge pipe. A second settling tank is similarly configured. The controller is configured to control the controllable fluid communication between the influent intake and the first settling tank and the controllable fluid communication between the influent intake the second settling tank in response to a change in a rate of influent flow.
INTEGRATED MOLDED ANGLED RESTING SECTION FOR A LAUNDER CHANNEL COVER PANEL
A system is provided for covering a launder channel of a clarifier tank, the launder channel having a tank wall and launder channel wall. The system includes a mounting section connected to either one of the tank wall or the launder channel wall, a hinge, and an openable cover panel coupled to the mounting section by the hinge, movable between a closed and open position. The openable cover panel has an integrated molded angled resting section, such that when said openable cover panel is in the open position, the integrated molded angled resting section rests against the mounting section.
Oil and grit separator system with twin vortex
An oil and grit separator system having twin vortex which uses gravity providing a twin vortex effect to remove sediment and oil from contaminated water. The system is designed to control storm water runoff and reduce the annual suspended solids loading of the granulometric particles. The conception and configuration of the system has a double action vortex. It ensures an optimal treatment level in either light or heavy rain and avoids re-suspension of particles. It also removes, separates and stores floating oil without any possible re-suspension of the matter.
METHOD FOR MAXIMIZING UNIFORM EFFLUENT FLOW THROUGH A WASTE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A screen decanter for decanting liquid from a reservoir, comprising at least one rack comprising screens and baffles forming the sides of a cavity; a frame attached to the screens and baffles and providing a barrier so that liquid cannot pass from outside into the cavity without passing through the screens; a patterned perforated drain pipe inside the cavity and leading to an opening through which liquids may drain out from the cavity. The pattern of the openings counteracts the hydrostatic head within the rack such that flow through the screens is uniform at all depths of immersion in the liquid reservoir. Preferably, the screens have a porosity of about 50 micrometers.
ELECTRO-SEPARATION CELL WITH SOLIDS REMOVAL
An electro-separation apparatus for separation of drilling fluids is provided. The apparatus can include a reaction chamber and a set of electrode plates provided in the reaction chamber. A sediment outlet can be provided near a bottom of the reaction chamber and wiper blades can be provided for sweeping sediment that has collected on the electrode plates towards the sediment outlet.
Submerged clarifier launder
A clarifier in a wastewater treatment plant is provided with a submerged launder for effluent, the launder preferably having an integral density current baffle and scum baffle. In one embodiment an existing launder is modified, with its vertical leg replaced with a sloped plate defining launder conduit triangular in cross section, and with a sloping portion of the plate forming a density current baffle. Openings in the sloped plate permit entry of effluent liquid, and the liquid level in a clarifier is controlled without an overflow weir plate. In another form submerged pipe with entry holes serves as the launder, with support brackets integral with a density current baffle. A third form of the launder is a box formed beneath the shelf of an existing internal launder in the clarifier, again with a density current baffle extending down from the box. In another version an existing launder is covered and sealed, and holes are drilled through the launder wall to admit effluent. A submerged launder avoids problems of algae buildup and the need for algae sweeps or frequent cleaning of the launder.
Floatables and scum removal apparatus for a waste water treatment system
A waste water treatment system including primary settling tanks. The waste water treatment system includes a trough which causes waste water to flow in a direction parallel to a bar screen placed in the trough with the base of the bar screen being at a lower elevation than the trough weir. Each primary settling tank has a fine screen box for screening waste water. Each primary settling tank has a scum and floatables trough for collecting scum and floatables which pass through or over a top edge of the bar screen. The scum and floatables troughs are in fluid communication with one another. When a scum valve is open, scum, floatables and waste water in the scum and floatables trough flow from the scum and floatables trough of the first primary setting tank to the scum and floatables trough of the second primary settling tank and into a collection container.
