20210236963 · 2021-08-05 ·

Various examples are provided for systems and apparatus for separation of particulate matter from fluid. In one example, an apparatus has a first wall and a second wall connected to and separated by an end edge wall and one or more side edge walls. The first wall has a fluid outlet. The apparatus has a separation chamber with a volume defined by the first wall, the second wall, the end edge wall, and the one or more side edge walls. Each of the side edge walls extends from a respective end of the end edge wall. The side edge walls taper from the end edge wall to a fluid exchange port, to guide contaminants or other particulate matter out the fluid exchange port.

A system is provided for covering a launder channel of a clarifier tank, the launder channel having a tank wall and launder channel wall. The system comprises a mounting section connected to the launder channel wall, a hinge, and an openable cover panel, movable between a closed and open position. The mounting section includes an angled resting structure for supporting the cover panel, when in the open position, away from the mounting section.

FLOW CONTROL CARTRIDGE

A conduit assembly for a separation device is described herein. The conduit assembly includes a first conduit segment, a second conduit segment, and a removable flow control insert or cartridge, which may be easily installed and uninstalled without removing other components of the conduit assembly from the separation device. The flow control insert may be installed within a top opening of the second conduit segment and includes a projection that extends into the conduit assembly and obstructs or restricts fluid flow at the juncture between the first and second conduit segments.

PARTICLE SETTLING DEVICES

Settling devices for separating particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields. The particle settling devices include a stack of cones with a small opening oriented upwardly or downwardly. The cones have an interior surface that is convex. These devices are useful for separating small (millimeter or micron sized) particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields, such as biological (microbial, mammalian, plant, insect or algal) cell cultures, solid catalyst particle separation from a liquid or gas and waste-water treatment.

WELLBORE FILTRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING INVERSE PYRAMID COMPARTMENTS AND SUCTION PUMPS

A system and method are disclosed for separating solids from a slurry recovered from a hydrocarbon well. The system includes inverted pyramidal shaped compartments for settling solids downwardly within the liquid stream. Further, each compartment includes a desander pump and a desilter pump that draws solids from the partially cleaned slurry into a desander and desilter, respectively, for removal of solids from the stream. The system includes a network of Weir plates for directing cleaned slurry streams downstream through successive compartments.

Gravity desanding apparatus with filter polisher

Apparatus and method disclosed herein related to first stage gravity separation of liquid and sand from a gaseous fluid stream in an upper portion of a desanding vessel, sand separating from gas along an annular path about a shell, the sand-free gas directed back down into the shell to a fluid outlet for removal as a product stream. A second stage gravity separation of sand from accumulated liquid occurs in a lower section of the vessel. An optional final or polishing stage of the liquid is conduct using a filter. A stacked-plate filter can extend an intake opening of the fluid outlet into the accumulated liquid. Further, the filter plates can be configured with parallel filtering of gas/liquid separation for gas intake above, and with liquid/sand separation below including pressure management of the filter operation.

Spring Filter System

A side-flushing mechanical filter system includes a spring positioned within a pipe and a plurality of plates attached to the spring, each plate defining at least one hole, and a rod positioned partially within the pipe, a proximal end of the rod attached to a distal-most plate and a distal portion of rod extending from the distal end of the pipe. A major face of each plate is configured to arrest sediment from water flowing into the pipe via a first water inlet while the holes defined by the plates enable filtered water to flow therethrough and out of the first water outlet when the first water inlet and first water outlet are opened. During cleaning of sediment, graywater flows into the pipe via the second water inlet and over the plates while a user moves the rod to dislodge sediment from the plates and toward an outlet.

Apparatus and method for gravitational separation of the phases of a two phase liquid

Disclosed is an apparatus for the gravitational separation of the first and second liquid phases of a two phase liquid containing predominantly a continuous first liquid phase with a dispersed second liquid phase having a lower specific gravity than the first liquid. The apparatus comprises a tank defining an interior chamber. A feed inlet introduces the two 5 phase liquid into the lower portion of the chamber. The upper portion of the chamber has an upward flow zone through which the two phase liquid rises, with the dispersed second liquid rising more than the first liquid and being separated therefrom due to the second liquid's lower specific gravity. The second liquid forms a floating layer and a conduit directs separated second liquid from the floating layer to a second liquid outlet.

Waste liquid treating apparatus

A sedimenting assembly for sedimenting debris contained in a processed waste liquid in a sedimentation tank includes a plurality of partition plates extending vertically across a direction in which the processed waste liquid flows and disposed at spaced intervals in the direction, thereby defining a zigzag channel through which the processed waste liquid flows horizontally. The zigzag channel ensures a time during which to sediment the debris against a time during which the processed waste liquid flows through the zigzag channel, allowing the debris to settle reliably.
