NON-PLANAR AND NON-SYMMETRICAL PIEZOELECTRIC CRYSTALS AND REFLECTORS

An acoustophoretic device is disclosed. The acoustophoretic device includes an acoustic chamber, an ultrasonic transducer, and a reflector. The ultrasonic transducer includes a piezoelectric material driven by a voltage signal to create a multi-dimensional acoustic standing wave in the acoustic chamber emanating from a non-planar face of the piezoelectric material. A method for separating a second fluid or a particulate from a host fluid is also disclosed. The method includes flowing the mixture through an acoustophoretic device. A voltage signal is sent to drive the ultrasonic transducer to create the multi-dimensional acoustic standing wave in the acoustic chamber such that the second fluid or particulate is continuously trapped in the standing wave, and then agglomerates, aggregates, clumps, or coalesces together, and subsequently rises or settles out of the host fluid due to buoyancy or gravity forces, and exits the acoustic chamber.

RADIOFREQUENCY PARTICLE SEPARATOR

A method of separating a mineral bearing particle from a fluid includes providing a housing along a surface of the fluid, moving the housing along the surface of the fluid with a driver, and applying a radio-frequency electromagnetic field to the fluid with a generator. Applying the radio-frequency electromagnetic field includes increasing a temperature of the mineral bearing particle contained within the fluid to a boiling point of the fluid whereby the mineral bearing particle transfers heat into the fluid.

Industrialized fish and algae farming system and method with recirculating water

An industrialized fish and algae farming system with recirculating water and method are provided, and the system includes a fish and algae farming system, a fiber rotary disc filter system, and a magnetic loading flocculation system. In accordance with the fish and algae farming system, the aquaculture of fish and algae in the same space is achieved, the algae can transform CO.sub.2 exhaled by fish and nutrients, polysaccharides, vitamins and lipids, and then release oxygen to rapidly improve the aquaculture water quality. The fiber rotary disc filter system and the magnetic loading flocculation system can effectively remove suspended particles, grease, algae, bacteria, viruses and the like in aquaculture sewage, thus achieving the deep purification of the aquaculture sewage. The purified water quality reaches the aquaculture standards in fishery and can be directly recycled, and the whole system has no sewage discharge.

A separation device features a coalescing media and a magnetic separation insert. The coalescing media includes vertically assembled perforated sheets having surfaces with openings. The sheets form a coalescing media interior space in the separation chamber, and are configured and shaped to slow down hydronic fluid and enable entrained gasses, ferromagnetic or ferritic particles and other solids to coalesce and come out of a hydronic fluid via a coalescing action caused by the hydronic fluid contacting and flowing through the coalescing media. The magnetic separation insert is coupled to a bottom portion of the separation device and arranged in the coalescing media interior space and has a non-magnetic sleeve that surrounds a removable magnet insert that generates a magnetic field to attract and collect the ferromagnetic or ferritic particles on the non-magnetic sleeve that coalesce and come out of the hydronic fluid, and can be removed from inside the non-magnetic sleeve to release the ferromagnetic or ferritic particles attracted and collected on the non-magnetic sleeve so released ferromagnetic or ferritic particles fall to the bottom portion of the separation chamber.
