The universal separator is a device that provides simultaneous separation of solids and oils (and potentially gases) from water. Disclosed herein is a device for improving water quality, said device comprising: an inlet for inflow of liquid into the device; a hydraulic circuit for receiving liquid from the inlet, the hydraulic circuit comprising at least a first tank and a second tank, wherein the first tank is upstream of the second tank and wherein one of said first and second tanks is nested within the other of said first and second tanks; an outlet at a downstream end of the hydraulic circuit for discharge of liquid from the device; one or more contaminant separation elements in the hydraulic circuit for separation of contaminants from liquid passing therethrough using at least one of: gravitational separation; sized-based filtration; chemical separation; magnetic separation; electrolytic separation; and adsorption or attraction-based separation, wherein the first tank is a settlement tank for gravitational settlement of contaminants from the liquid.

Connection assembly

A connection assembly is disclosed for connecting a magnetic separator into a central heating system circuit, the magnetic separator including a housing, a separation chamber within the housing, and externally threaded inlet and outlet ports extending from the housing. The connection assembly comprises: a fitment adapted to be received within at least one of the ports of the separator, the fitment including a bore for carrying fluid from/to the central heating circuit to/from the separator; a threaded connector disposed around the bore for securing the fitment to the or each port, the threaded connector having a hand grip area for facilitating tightening of the connector by hand; and a removable force transfer element receivable between the fitment and the threaded connector for transferring force between the threaded connector and the fitment.

A scrubber wastewater treatment device, according to one possible embodiment, includes a magnetic powder adding device controllable to add a magnetic powder to be added to scrubber wastewater having been generated by treating combustion exhaust gas in a scrubber, and a controller configured to control an amount of the magnetic powder added by the magnetic powder adding device in accordance with a measurement value obtained by a sensor.

A magnetic filter (10) includes first and second separation chambers (10, 12). The separation chambers (10, 12) each have an inlet and an outlet, and the separation chambers (10, 12) are joined together such that the inlets of the first and second chambers are adjacent, and the outlets of the first and second chambers are adjacent. An inlet port arrangement (28) connects both inlets to a single inlet pipe, and an outlet port arrangement (30) connects both outlets to a single outlet pipe.

An auto cleaning system for cleaning a drilling fluid in a drilling operation includes a first line, a second line, an auto clean pump operatively connected to the first line and the second line, and an electromagnetic device around at least a portion of the first line, wherein the electromagnetic device is energized when the drilling fluid is passing through the first line. The auto clean pump is configured to receive the drilling fluid from the first line or the second line and remove metal particles from the drilling fluid. The system also includes a controller configured to determine a pressure difference in a line, at least partially open a valve to divert drilling fluid intake from one line the other, and close the first entrance valve to stop the drilling fluid from entering the first line.

An automated waste water treatment system includes a collection tank constructed to hold waste water, a first flow line connected to the collection tank to output the waste water from the collection tank, an electrocoagulation unit that receives the waste water and outputs the waste water as coagulated waste water to a flow line, a polymer dosage tank to provide a polymer dosage into the flow line where the polymer dosage mixes with the coagulated waste water to produce and output flocculated waste water. A clarifier connected to the flow line receives the flocculated waste water and produces sludge-free waste water and concentrated sludge, a series of filters to output filter-treated water, and an ultrafiltration system that receives filter-treated water and outputs ultrafiltration-treated water to a reverse osmosis system.

An automated waste water treatment system includes a collection tank constructed to hold waste water, a first flow line connected to the collection tank to output the waste water from the collection tank, an electrocoagulation unit that receives the waste water and outputs the waste water as coagulated waste water, a polymer dosage tank to provide a polymer dosage to the coagulated waste water to produce and output flocculated waste water. An air grid of the electrocoagulation unit, the latter housing a plurality of electrodes, increases the lifespan and efficiency of the electrodes to perform electrocoagulation of the waste water. A clarifier connected to the flow line receives the flocculated waste water and produces sludge-free waste water and concentrated sludge, a series of filters to output filter-treated water, and an ultrafiltration system that receives filter-treated water and outputs ultrafiltration-treated water to a reverse osmosis system.

Electro-separation cell with solids removal

An electro-separation apparatus for separation of drilling fluids is provided. The apparatus can include a reaction chamber and a set of electrode plates provided in the reaction chamber. A sediment outlet can be provided near a bottom of the reaction chamber and wiper blades can be provided for sweeping sediment that has collected on the electrode plates towards the sediment outlet.

LIQUID TREATMENT DEVICE

A liquid treatment device is configured to perform at least one treatment from a group of at least two different treatments. The liquid treatment device includes a connector defining an input conduit and an output conduit, a housing defining a closed-off space, and an adapter inside the housing. The adapter is moveable in the housing between at least a first position corresponding with a first liquid treatment and a second position corresponding with a second liquid treatment. A control is disposed outside the housing and connected to the adapter, and is configured to set the adapter from outside of the housing into one of at least the first position and the second position.
