Method for Operating a Multi-phase Pump and Apparatus Therefor
The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for operating a multi-phase pump which has a suction-side inlet (10) and a discharge-side outlet (20) and which pumps a multi-phase mixture charged with solids, comprising the following steps:
a. pumping a multi-phase mixture into a discharge-side separation chamber (45),
b. separating a gaseous phase from a liquid phase and a solid phase in the separation chamber (45),
c. separating the liquid phase from the solid phase in the separation chamber (45), and
d. supplying a portion of the liquid phase freed from the solid phase to the suction side.
Method for operating a multi-phase pump and apparatus therefor

RECOVERING A HYDROCARBON FLUID
Techniques for recovering a hydrocarbon fluid from a waste fluid include transmitting a plurality of wave energy pulses through a waste fluid, the waste fluid including a mixture of a hydrocarbon fluid and a non-hydrocarbon fluid; receiving a plurality of reflected wave energy pulses transmitted through the waste fluid; determining a level difference between a surface of a hydrocarbon fluid layer that includes the hydrocarbon fluid and a surface of a non-hydrocarbon fluid layer that includes a non-hydrocarbon fluid based, at least in part, on the plurality of reflected wave energy pulses; and operating a hydrocarbon fluid pumping assembly, based on the determined level difference, to circulate a portion of the hydrocarbon fluid in the hydrocarbon fluid layer from the waste fluid.
WASTE WATER SEPARATION VESSEL
A waste water separation vessel is provided having a wedge shaped body with an internal water containing volume. The body is configured to trap FOG and wastes within the body allowing water to pass through the body. At least one top facing access port to allow access to the internal volume of the body is provided and the wedge shaped body tapers outwardly from top to bottom to define a larger bottom area than a top area. The side walls include vertically oriented strengthening ribs which define intervening indentations, and each lower end of the vertically oriented ribs is connected to a generally horizontal beam which defines closed bottom ends on the indentations. When the vessel is buried in the ground the wedge shaped body and the closed bottom indentations interact with the ground to help oppose any buoyancy forces acting on the buried body.
Method for storing used cooking oil
Method of collecting used cooking oil includes extracting used cooking oil from at least one deep fryer to a container, storing and separating said used cooking oil within the container which is located within the cooking area. The oil from the deep fat fryer is periodically pumped to the container and allowed to settle. The unwanted sludge is then tapped off into a portable container and the wanted oil is pumped to an exterior transportation container. The container is triangular shaped with rear walls converging into a corner of the cooking area and a diagonal front face with side flanges and a bottom flap such that it is located in the corner of an interior wall of a building and contains the pipes and plumbing.
Neutralization/water separation tank for esterified product and neutralization/water separation method for esterified product
A neutralization/water separation tank for an esterified product including: a neutralization part in which a crude product mixture containing alcohol and an ester compound, a neutralizing agent, and water are put to produce a neutralized mixture; a water separation part which divides the neutralized mixture into a floating layer and an aqueous layer; a first partition wall which extends upward from a bottom surface to provide an upper passage and by which the neutralization part and the water separation part are partitioned; and a second partition wall which extends downward from a ceiling to provide a lower passage, wherein the water separation part includes: a first water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the neutralization part through the upper passage; and a second water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the first water separation part through the lower passage, wherein the first water separation part and the second water separation part are partitioned by the second partition wall.
Pallet coating waste recovery system
The present invention relates to a self-contained unit having a system for recovering polymer overspray from a pallet coating process. The self-contained unit includes a common enclosure having at least four walls, a ceiling and a floor. There is a collection tank located below the floor of the common enclosure and a roof platform is located above the ceiling of the common enclosure. Within the common enclosure is at least one spray booth having a waterfall wall with liquid flowing down a face of the waterfall wall to the collection tank. Mounted on the roof platform is a consolidation tank, hydrocyclone and pressure filter that are all part of the system for removing the polymer from the overspray mixture collected at the collection tank.
CENTRIFUGE-FREE FLUID CLEANING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEPARATION OF FINE SOLIDS IN OILFIELD APPLICATIONS
Methods for separating fine particles from a fluid may be conducted using an amine-functionalized, partially oxidized saccharide polymer to promote separation of the fine particles. Cleaned fluids may be obtained without using a centrifuge to promote separation of the fine particles from the fluid.
