Apparatus and method for analyzing influence variable on membrane fouling of seawater desalination system

This disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for analyzing an influence variable on membrane fouling of a seawater desalination system, wherein influence variables other than variables having a low degree of influence, among variables affecting the membrane, are selected, and the influence thereof on membrane fouling is used to derive an equation. The apparatus includes a variable storage unit configured to store variables affecting membrane fouling of a seawater desalination system, a dominant variable selection unit configured to select at least one dominant variable among the variables through at least one algorithm, and an equation derivation unit configured to derive a specific equation based on a correlation between the selected dominant variable and the membrane fouling.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEPARATING SURFACE MATERIALS FROM A FLUID USING ACOUSTIC PRESSURE SHOCK WAVES

A system for solids removal is provided that includes a vessel having an upper end, a lower end opposite the upper end, an outer wall defining an interior space of the vessel and extending from the lower end to the upper end. The vessel further includes a bottom connected to the outer wall adjacent the lower end. The vessel includes an underflow weir, a solids collection weir, and a weir bottom connected to the underflow weir and the solids collection weir. The vessel further includes an overflow weir positioned in the interior space and connected to the vessel adjacent the lower end of the vessel and extending a distance to an upper end of the overflow weir located adjacent the upper end of the vessel, the overflow weir located between the underflow weir and the outlet.

BACTERIA MICROTRAPS
20190291052 · 2019-09-26 ·

Microstructures immersed in a liquid have multiple chambers and funnels oriented inwardly. The funnels generate differential motility for bacteria. Bacteria is therefore concentrated within the chamber, and effectively sequestered from the environment outside the microstructures. Multiple consecutive chambers and conical funnels allow more effective sequestration of bacteria. These microtraps offer biocontrol options alternative to pharmaceutical solution such as antibiotics.

System and Method for Treating and Recycling Process Water
20190256393 · 2019-08-22 ·

A system and a method for treating and recycling process water has a cylindrical sedimentation tank and a cylindrical tank for flotation and storage downstream of the sedimentation tank. Water is added to an inlet at the upper part of the sedimentation tank, and treated water is removed from an outlet at the lower part of the flotation tank for recycling. A screw in the sedimentation tank has a major diameter similar the sedimentation tank, which forces water to flow rotationally from the top towards the bottom of the sedimentation tank. A riser between the sedimentation tank and the flotation tank with one end in a lower part of the sedimentation tank, and the other end at an upper part of the flotation tank. A cleaning loop with ozone added is between the tanks, removing water from the flotation tank and returning it to the sedimentation tank.

ANIMAL BYPRODUCT RECOVERY SYSTEM

A system for recovery of animal byproducts and providing water reuse from an animal processing plant waste stream. In one embodiment of the invention there is an equalization tank forming part of an animal processing plant that is mechanically filtered to recover animal byproducts from a water mixture in the equalization tank. In another aspect of the invention there is a skimmer tank that contains a skimmer mixture with water and animal byproducts. The system mechanically separates the animal byproducts from the skimmer mixture in a manner that is suitable for human consumption. The system also allows the separated water to be reused in the animal processing plant.
