Removal of Suspended Solids from Waste Water
A system and method for removing suspended solids from waste water includes flowing a volume of waste water through a series of flow chambers arranged between an inlet and an outlet. Each of the flow chambers includes a flow path that is substantially transverse (orthogonal) to a predominant flow path between the inlet and the outlet. The flow chambers are arranged substantially parallel to each other in a switchback (antiparallel) configuration. Stops (e.g., oil or debris stops) are disposed in one or more flow chambers. The stops are configured to substantially impede (or otherwise reduce) introduction of floating material to a flow chamber immediately downstream of each stop. Weirs are disposed in one or more of the flow chambers. The weirs are configured to substantially impede (or otherwise reduce) introduction of settled solids to a flow chamber immediately downstream of each weir.

Method for treating mineral sludge by flocculation in-line then above ground
The improved process for conditioning sludges by flocculation, according to which: the sludge to be treated is transported in a pipeline, at least one flocculating agent is inserted in the pipeline that transports the sludge to be treated, the sludge is then mixed with the said flocculating agent. finally, the mixture is transported and then discharged in a natural or an artificial excavation at a distance from the bottom of the said excavation that is less than its depth.

Fuel generation using high-voltage electric fields methods
Methods of making fuel are described herein. A method may include providing a first working fluid, a second working fluid, and a third working fluid. The method may also include exposing the first working fluid to a first high voltage electric field to produce a first plasma, exposing the second working fluid to a second high voltage electric field to produce a second plasma, and exposing the third working fluid to a third high voltage electric field to produce a third plasma. The method may also include providing and contacting a carbon-based feedstock with the third plasma, the second plasma, and the first plasma within a processing chamber to form a mixture, cooling the mixture using a heat exchange device to form a cooled mixture, and contacting the cooled mixture with a catalyst to form a fuel.

Treatment of contaminated water from gas wells
Systems and methods for treating contaminated water from gas wells by adding an inorganic coagulant and a low molecular weight polymer to the contaminated water to increase the size of solid particulates in the water and to thereby allow the solid particulates to be filtered or to otherwise be removed from the water are disclosed herein. While the inorganic coagulant can be any suitable coagulant, in some cases the coagulant is selected from aluminum chlorohydrate, polyaluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, and ferric sulfate. Similarly, the polymer can comprise any suitable polymer, such as epi/dma, a condensation product of epichlorohydrin and dimethyl amine. The described systems and methods can clean the contaminated water so that the water can then be treated in a variety of other manners, which may include reverse osmosis, deionization, treatment with mixed bed deionizers, electro-separation, fraction distillation, distillation, and other suitable water cleansing processes.
