Dynamic plate pack for soil extrusion system

An extrusion system for separating particulates entrained in wash water, e.g. from harvesting tuberous produce, includes a settling tank configured to receive a flow of particulated water. A diffuser suspended within the tank converts the flow of particulated water into multiple transverse flows to avoid churning settled particulates. A particulate filter fixed within the tank includes a central channel surrounded by a cylindrical array of cantilevered parallel vertical blades. The channel directs the flows below the blades, causing dynamic movement of the blades as the particulated water rises therebetween to trap particulates along boundary layers, promote particulate settling by gravity, and allow clarified water to rise to the top of the tank. A sensor detects settled particulate reaching a predetermined setpoint, and in response the system actuates an auger and opens a pinch valve to force concentrated particulate from the bottom of the tank.

SPHERICAL SAND SEPARATOR FOR PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS WELLS

A sand separator for capturing solid debris from oil and gas wells includes a spherical, high-pressure vessel adapted to couple downstream of a wellhead. Fluid entering the separator follows a helical path around a vertical separator axis, slowing and separating into water, gas, oil and solid debris, the latter sinking to the bottom. A conical, downwardly opening flue descends from an exit port at the top and terminates in a horizontal, coaxial perimeter. A scalloped, annular collar inside the flue perimeter creates a low barrier to fluid flow into the flue. As fluid constituents circulate toward the flue, they recombine free of sand and rock debris, pass under the flue perimeter and across the collar, slowing further and becoming substantially laminar A fluid dome rises inside the flue with a gas layer above other fluid constituents, permitting the gas to exit the separator through the exit port.

METHOD FOR PURIFYING EASILY POLYMERIZABLE SUBSTANCE

A method for purifying an easily polymerizable substance efficiently to improve the troublesome matters when cleaning, e.g., reducing the number of times the metal mesh is cleaned. The method for purifying an easily polymerizable substance of the present invention comprises a step of introducing a crude liquid containing the easily polymerizable substance into a distillation column, and a first separation step of introducing a bottoms liquid extracted from a collection part of the distillation column into a wet cyclone, to separate a first purified liquid containing the easily polymerizable substance from a liquid containing an insoluble solid.

BIOREACTOR SYSTEM AND METHOD

The present invention is a composting bioreactor system that continually receives biodegradable solid wastes, waste waters and exhaust gases, automatically recycles the biodegradable wastes into nutrients and heat energy, and automatically supplies the nutrients and heat into an integrated hydroponic or aquaponic system. This invention together with integrated food growing system may be installed onsite such as balconies, backyards and premises of restaurants and food factories etc. therefore may lead to zero mileage targets both for recycling wastes and for supplying foods. This invention integrates composting process and aquaponic technology together and may establish a closed-loop recirculation of both water and gases therefore upgrades aquaponics into compoponics. A compoponic system has both soil and soilless growing beds and mimics nature recirculating nutrients, carbon and energy among human being, animals, microorganisms and plants by way of photosynthesis, slow burning by cellular respiration and burning by combustion.

Floating liquid intake

A floating liquid intake for a liquid suction removal system, the liquid intake comprising housing defining an internal cavity. The housing has a hollow and buoyant annular body, an upper cover and a lower cover. The internal cavity is formed between the upper and lower covers. A substantially annular inlet is formed in the annular body for ingress of liquid into the cavity. The annular body has a buoyancy sufficient for the liquid intake to float in a liquid with the annular inlet submerged below the surface of the liquid in which the liquid intake is floating. A pipe extends into the cavity and the pipe includes an inlet that in use is open below the surface of the liquid within the cavity. The pipe extends outside of the cavity for connection to a liquid suction removal system.

Flow control cartridge

A conduit assembly for a separation device is described herein. The conduit assembly includes a first conduit segment, a second conduit segment, and a removable flow control insert or cartridge, which may be easily installed and uninstalled without removing other components of the conduit assembly from the separation device. The flow control insert may be installed within a top opening of the second conduit segment and includes a projection that extends into the conduit assembly and obstructs or restricts fluid flow at the juncture between the first and second conduit segments.
