One illustrative system disclosed herein includes a separator vessel that is adapted to separate solids particles from a flow of a multi-phase fluid, a differential pressure sensing system that is adapted to measure a differential pressure of a column of the multi-phase fluid in the separator vessel and a control system that is adapted to determine at least one of a level, volume or weight of the separated solids particles within the separator vessel based upon at least the measured differential pressure of the column of the multi-phase fluid in the separator vessel.

PARTICLE SETTLING DEVICES
20210291080 · 2021-09-23 · ·

Settling devices for separating particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields. The particle settling devices include a stack of cones with a small opening oriented upwardly or downwardly. The cones have an interior surface that is convex. These devices are useful for separating small (millimeter or micron sized) particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields, such as biological (microbial, mammalian, plant, insect or algal) cell cultures, solid catalyst particle separation from a liquid or gas and waste-water treatment.

Automated Sand Separator Discharge System
20210299594 · 2021-09-30 ·

A system for automatically discharging sand from a sand separator. The system includes a first and second valves and a choke valve disposed in a discharge line from a sand separator. A pressure transducer measures pressure in the line between the first and second valves. A control panel operates the valves to initiate and terminate the discharge sequence. An emergency shutdown valve is positioned upstream of the sand separator and is operative to shut down the system if the pressure reading by the transducer exceeds a predetermined amount.

WASTE TREATMENT DEVICE

A waste treatment device may include a solid-liquid separator which is configured to receive and separate waste into solids and liquid. The waste treatment device may further include a solids treatment arrangement which is configured to receive the solids from the solid-liquid separator, wherein the solids treatment arrangement comprises a disinfection unit having a heating mechanism configured to heat, without burning, the solids so as to disinfect the solids to convert the solids into pathogen-free-treated-solids. The waste treatment device may further include a liquid treatment arrangement which is configured to receive the liquid from the solid-liquid separator and to treat the liquid so as to convert the liquid into pathogen-free-effluent. The solid-liquid separator may include a curved-funnel-shaped inner separator surface and a frustoconically-shaped inner liquid guide surface whereby the respective narrower ends are directed towards each other.

Liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separator for waste oil

Disclosed is a liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separator for waste oil, including an oil-bath heating tank, a plurality of cyclone units and solid removal units. The cyclone units are provided and fixed in the oil-bath heating tank. Each of the solid removal units is connected to an underflow pipe of each of the cyclone units and is configured to separate solid particles. A solid removal outer pipe is arranged at a tail end of the underflow pipe via the first connector; the second connector is arranged at a tail end of the solid removal outer pipe; the solid removal inner pipe is arranged at an underflow outlet of the underflow pipe via the second connector to form a solid removal gap. The invention provides the demulsification and dehydration treatment of waste oil emulsion and the separation of solid particles.

Water skimming device and method

A skimmer for removing water from a sediment basin to a water removal system may include a float portion, and a first pipe having a first end attached to said float portion and in communication with the water removal system. The first pipe has an orifice formed therein to admit water from below a surface of said sediment basin. A guard is attached to said float portion and said first pipe, said guard fixedly positioning said float portion so that said orifice is located below said surface. The guard has a continuous, vertically-extending side wall having a bottom edge defining a water flow path opening located below said orifice. A flow path into said orifice from the sediment basin extends only through said flow path opening, upwardly to said orifice, then downwardly though said orifice into said first pipe.

PURIFICATION OF OIL
20210101094 · 2021-04-08 ·

A method and a system for purification of oil, said method comprising the steps of: —providing separation aid and oil to be purified to at least one sedimentation tank; —waiting for allowing a sludge phase to sediment to a bottom part of the sedimentation tank, said sludge phase comprising the separation aid together with impurities from the oil; —removing an oil phase not comprising said sludge phase from the at least one sedimentation tank; and —filtering said oil phase through a depth filter for removing any possible remaining separation aid and impurities.

Fractionator annular drain apparatus and method

A tank system may be conventional and fixed, or mobile, such as a fracking fluid or other tank trailer. A drain port thereof is fitted with an adapter connecting a snorkel system to drain liquids from near the top of the liquid level in the tank. A snorkel head at the extreme distal end of a tube near the longitudinal center of the tank is suspended by a system of buoys. A flow field controller plate resists formation of vortices near the snorkel head, so it can operate as near the surface as possible, withdrawing the highest grade oil efficiently. At its exit, the proximal end of the tube drains oil through an inner conduit of an adapter at a penetration in the wall of the tank. The adapter forms an annulus around the inner conduit draining tank bottoms directly from the tank.
