Nutrient removal filtration system and method
Systems, devices, and methods for providing nutrient removals in an up flow filtration storm water system for treating water to very high clean levels using filtration media. A filtration media supported by a screen above an angled floor in a vault allows for incoming storm water to pass into a void space above the angled floor into the screen and filtration media and then out an outlet to the vault. The filtration media can include recyclable and/or natural particles. Layers of river rocks can be placed on top of and below the filtration media. Water sprayers can further liquefy sediment and debris that fills the void space between the angled floor and the bottom of the screen. The captured debris can slide down the angled floor, where a vacuum hose from an above ground vacuum truck can remove the debris and sediment. The long lasting filtration media can be cleaned by being backwashed.

A method and an apparatus for treating a liquid containing impurities may include a filtering chamber configured to permit granular media to interact with liquid containing impurities, thereby removing impurities from the liquid to produce filtrate; a filtrate section for receiving the filtrate; a gas supplying system for delivering gas to the granular media in the filtering chamber for transport of a portion of the granular media to a granular media washer; a reject section in fluid communication with the granular media washer for receiving a reject mixture comprising liquid and impurities from the granular media washer; and a control unit that is configured to determine whether the portion of the granular media is being transported properly based on an amount of reject mixture in the reject section.

Water restoration system
A water restoration system is presented. The system includes a filtration chamber disposed proximate to or within a water basin, such as a watershed basin, to continuously filter contaminants from the water basin without relying on a rain event. The filtration chamber includes a reaction chamber and an aeration and mixing chamber, such that the water removed from the basin interacts with filtration media within the reaction chamber, and such that the filtration media mixes with the water (while the water is aerated) within the aeration and mixing chamber. As a result, water from the basin is continuously filtered through the water restoration system to reduce the concentration of contaminants, such as phosphorus and nitrogen, from the water basin.

A water restoration system is presented. The system includes a filtration chamber disposed proximate to or within a water basin, such as a watershed basin, to continuously filter contaminants from the water basin without relying on a rain event. The invention relates to a facility for the treatment of a fluid, comprising a reactor (1) that accommodates a bed of adsorbent media particles, means (2) for injecting and distributing fluid to be treated, which means are in the bottom part of said reactor (1) and are intended to form an ascending flow of fluid within said reactor (1) and allow said bed of adsorbent media particles to be fluidised and expanded, and means (3) for recovering the fluid that has passed within said bed of adsorbent media particles fluidised in this way, characterised in that said reactor (1) is a closed reactor that forms an enclosure making it possible to implement said treatment under pressure, said enclosure having a bottom (11) that accommodates said means (2) for injecting and distributing the fluid to be treated, a substantially cylindrical central body (12) forming a fluidisation column, a substantially cylindrical peripheral body (14) defining an annular chamber (15) around said substantially cylindrical central body (12) delimiting a fluidisation column, said annular chamber (15) accommodating at least one layer of a granular or pulverulent material, a curved cover (13) forming a baffle making it possible to transform said ascending flow into a homogeneous descending flow and to direct said descending flow towards said recovery means (3) via said annular chamber (15).
