Drainless reverse osmosis water purification system
A drainless reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system provides relatively pure water for on-demand dispensing, while recycling brine to a domestic hot water system. The drainless purification system includes a pre-filter catalyst cartridge for removing chlorine-based contaminants from a tap water supply upstream from an RO membrane. The catalyst is regularly refreshed by a high through-flow of water to a conventional cold water dispense faucet, thereby significantly prolonging the service life of the RO membrane. The RO membrane is incorporated into a multi-cartridge unit adapted for facilitated slide-out removal and replacement as needed. A control valve recycles brine from the RO membrane to the hot water system during pure water production, and recirculates tap water through the RO membrane when a pure water reservoir is substantially filled. The multi-cartridge unit may further include an air filtration system for providing a flow of filtered air.
PRODUCED WATER FILTRATION
A system for treating water includes at least one pump, at least one filter pot coupled to the at least one pump and configured to pass the flow of water to be treated in a first direction, at least one valve upstream of the filter pot, and, a processor operably coupled to the at least one pump and the at least one valve. The processor is configured to implement computer executable instructions that cause the processor to perform functions that include receiving a signal reflective of the parameter from at least one sensor, generating a cleaning signal as a function of the parameter, transmitting the cleaning signal to the at least one valve to close the valve to the source of water to be cleaned, and operating a cleaning cycle in which a cleaning water is flushed through the filter pot in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Splash plate retention method and apparatus
A splash plate assembly is retained in a rotary bell cup by a barbed skirt that interfaces with an inner surface of the bell cup. The splash plate assembly includes a splash plate or deflector that is secured to the front side of an insert. The insert has barbed extensions that may form a skirt around an outer periphery thereof. The insert is snapped into the front bell opening of a bell cup, and the barbed extensions elastically deform and snap back outwardly to interface with a shoulder formed in the bell cup inner surface.
RETURN FILTER
A first discharge tube having a substantially cylindrical shape with openings at both ends is inserted through an outflow hole of a filter case and provided protruding toward the bottom surface of the tank. A second discharge tube having a substantially cylindrical shape is provided so as to cover the first discharge tube. The second discharge tube includes a first end that comes into contact with a bottom surface of the filter case, and is provided protruding from the bottom surface of the filter case toward the bottom surface of the tank. A tip end of the second discharge tube is covered by a bottom surface cover, and a plurality of discharge holes are formed in a region near an upper end of a side surface.
Stackable cell strainer
A cell strainer for separating particles from a cell suspension, having an upper portion with at least one filter area lying essentially perpendicular to the direction of flow of the suspension and a lower portion adapted to fit into the openings of at least two sample tubes with different sized openings. The lower portion has a first section with shoulders or flanges having the diameter of the opening of a first tube and a second section having an inner and outer wall serving as a receptacle for the neck of a second tube, where the diameter of the first section is larger than the diameter of the second section.
Piston valve with annular passages
A control valve (10) includes a valve body with a plurality of ports (A, B, C, D, E, F) and a plurality of annular flow passages (53, 55, 57). A piston (34) which includes a plurality of annular flow passages and a longitudinal flow passage is selectively movable within a bore (32) within the valve body through operation of a valve controller (70). The valve controller is selectively operative to control the position of the piston so as to enable liquid flow through a plurality of flow paths. The valve controller further includes a installable and removable valve controller housing (74) which is releasibly engageable with a valve base (72). The valve may include a changeable piston and changeable injector and plug components to adapt the valve to different flow and fluid mixing requirements.

Apparatus for filtering and/or conditioning and/or purifying a fluid such as water, and interface thereof for providing water boiler expansion pressure relief
An apparatus for filtering water has an interface and a filtration/purification canister removably mountable onto the interface. Connecting the canister to the interface automatically opens a check valve in the interface to permit water to flow from the interface into and through the canister, and then back to and through the interface to an outlet port. Disconnecting the canister from the interface automatically closes the check valve, stopping the flow of water. The interface provides for water boiler expansion pressure relief, which guarding against any water contaminated downstream of the apparatus from backflowing into the filtration/purification canister and contaminating the portion of the filtration/purification canister downstream of the filter/conditioning/purifying medium held within the filtration/purification canister and thereby causing water exiting the outlet port of the filtration/purification canister to be contaminated.
