The invention relates to a filter element for a filter press having at least one press plate with a first filter side and a second filter side, both filter sides being connected by a central channel, the filter element comprises a first part of filter material to be disposed in the first filter side of the press plate and a second part of filter material to be disposed on the second filter side of the press plate, wherein the first part and the second part of filter material are connected by the connection tube to be inserted into the central channel of the press plate. According to the invention, the connection tube comprises a tube body having an inner diameter, an outer diameter and a substantially wall thickness, wherein at least at one end of the connection tube a ring-shaped front face is formed having a width according to the wall thickness of the connection tube, and one part of filter material is directly fixed on the ring-shaped front face of the connection tube. Furthermore, the invention relates to a filter press and a method for producing such a filter element.

Disclosed are a method and a device for recovering uranium (U) using a process for chemically treating washing wastewater of a uranium hexafluoride (UF6) cylinder. The method and the device are provided to separate uranium (U) from the wastewater released during a process of washing the uranium hexafluoride (UF6) cylinder and to release a filtrate that satisfies atomic energy licensing standards and environmental regulation standards using evaporation and condensation. Accordingly, an independent technology and process for treating the wastewater released during the process of washing the uranium hexafluoride (UF6) cylinder are ensured, which provides easier maintenance and greatly reduces costs compared to the purchase and operation of apparatuses manufactured by foreign makers.

A method for air drying a filter cake contained in a filter chamber defined by a first filter plate, which comprises an air inlet for supplying drying air into the filter chamber to expel fluids from the filter cake, and a second filter plate, which comprises a fluid outlet for discharging fluids from the filter chamber. The method comprises throttling the air flow into the filter chamber by means of an orifice plate that acts as a flow resistance connected in series with the flow resistance of the filter chamber. Preferably the orifice of the orifice plate is so sized that, in case the flow resistance of the filter chamber falls below a normal level, choked flow is achieved in the orifice.

A method for air drying a filter cake contained in a filter chamber defined by a first filter plate, which comprises an air inlet for supplying drying air into the filter chamber to expel fluids from the filter cake, and a second filter plate, which comprises a fluid outlet for discharging fluids from the filter chamber. A filter (20) configured to separate the solid components and the liquid components from a slurry. The filter (20) includes a plurality of filter plate assemblies (46) that cooperate to define a plurality of filter chambers (70), each defining a perimeter (96) having an open section (98) when the filter plates (68) are in a closed position relative to one another. A filter (20) configured to separate the solid components and the liquid components from a slurry. The invention provides a connector assembly for fastening filter elements onto a supporting plate of a press filter, comprising a first cylindrical core, a first flange extending outward from the first cylindrical core, a second cylindrical core, and a second flange extending outward from the second cylindrical core. The first cylindrical core is shaped and dimensioned such that it snugly passes through and is meshed with a central through hole of the supporting plate, and the second cylindrical core is shaped and dimensioned such that it snugly passes through and is meshed with the first cylindrical core. Both the first cylindrical core and the first flange and both the second cylindrical core and the second flange are respectively molded integrally from a non-woven fabric which has the ability of self-sustaining and shape maintenance, and is moldable. The invention also relates to a press filter fitted with the connector assembly.

The invention provides a connector assembly for fastening filter elements onto a supporting plate of a press filter, comprising a first cylindrical core, a first flange extending outward from the first cylindrical core, a second cylindrical core, and a second flange extending outward from the second cylindrical core. The first cylindrical core is shaped and dimensioned such that it snugly passes through and is meshed with a central through hole of the supporting plate, and the second cylindrical core is shaped and dimensioned such that it snugly passes through and is meshed with the first cylindrical core.
