Gravity filter
Embodiments of a gravity filter for potable water comprise a loose filter bed comprising ion exchange resin particles and activated carbon particles, and a porous non-woven filter substrate disposed downstream of the loose filter bed, wherein the porous non-woven filter substrate comprises an impregnated heavy metal scavenger.
Filter cartridge
Filters for use in conjunction with valves of the faucet or spigot type, and to filters for use in devices for withdrawing liquids from containers at relatively low pressures, such as gravity feed jugs or other gravity feed reservoirs. A -turn attachment scheme for connecting a filter cartridge to a gravity feed reservoir, such as within a beverage making/dispensing device.

Filter Cartridge of Water Purification System
The invention relates to water purification devices of gravity type, intended for final purification of tap water and other liquids for household purposes.
From the state of the art water purification devices of gravity type usually consist of three elements: container for the raw liquid and container for purified liquid, which communicate with each other through water filtration cartridge. Raw liquid is poured into container for raw liquid and under gravity forces it flows through filtration cartridge and collects in the container for purified liquid. As it is known filtration cartridge consists of filtration zone and venting zone. Venting zone is executed as the lid with openings for raw liquid inflow and air outflow, and filtration zone. Filtration zone has in its bottom not less then one opening for purified water outflow and as usual is filled with filtration material. For example granulated and fibrous sorbents can be used as filtration materials in such purification devices.
Filtration cartridge of liquid purification device consists of filtration zone and venting zone, filtration zone in its turn consists of housing filled with the filtration material and not less than one opening made in the bottom of the housing, venting zone consists of fixation means and the lid, characterized in that filtration material has multi clustered interconnected structure, and venting zone is performed so as to retain and keep the main structure of the filtration material inside the housing of then filtration cartridge, by means of that fixation means is the first retention barrier and is made as a grid, the size of meshes of grid preferably is not more than average size of the filtration material cluster, and the lid is made as the second retention barrier and is made with the meshes which size is preferably not less than ten times less than size of the openings of the fixation means.
WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
A water filtration system includes a raw water reservoir that holds raw water. The system also includes a gravity filtration assembly to remove particles from the water as it passes through from the raw water reservoir. The filter of the assembly includes immobilized filter media within an enclosure.
Filter medium, filtering device using filter medium, and filter medium manufacturing method
A filter medium includes: a core yarn and a binder yarn twisted together, at least one of the core yarn or the binder yarn being weldable; and a filament yarn being fuzzy and weldable, the filament yarn being welded to at least one of the core yarn or the binder yarn while being placed between the core yarn and the binder yarn as twisted together. A filtering device for filtering a liquid to be treated with a filter medium layer includes the filter medium. A method of manufacturing the filter medium is also disclosed.
Filter Assembly with Self-Contained Disposable Filter Cartridge
A filtering device includes a two-piece housing and a disposable, self-contained filter cartridge. The filter cartridge includes a cylindrical filter with a specialized flow bypass endcap, and possibly a second differentiated endcap, wherein each endcap is coupled to opposing ends of the cylindrical filter. The flow bypass endcap includes two channels for the passage of fluids, one channel for the ingress of pre-filtered fluid another channel for egress of filtrate. The bottom endcap can block fluid flow into the end of the cylindrical filter. The filter cartridge includes an impermeable bladder which may be coupled to the outer surface of each endcap such that the bladder completely encloses the filter media. Fluid entering the system passes through ingress channel of the flow bypass endcap into bladder (which surrounds the filter and isolates the fluid from the filter housing).

Gravity filter designs configured for increased residence time
Embodiments of water filters comprise a filter housing configured to be disposed in a pour tray of a water filter pitcher, wherein a filter media cartridge is disposed inside the filter housing. The filter housing includes a housing floor, housing sidewalls extending upwardly, away from the housing floor, and at least one filter housing outlet disposed in one or more of the housing floor or the housing sidewalls. The filter media cartridge includes filter media, where the filter media cartridge comprises a cartridge floor spaced above the housing floor, cartridge sidewalls extending upwardly, away from the cartridge floor, and at least one filter media cartridge outlet disposed along one or more of the cartridge floor or the cartridge sidewalls. The water filter pitcher further includes a riser extending upwardly, away from the housing floor, and spaced between the housing sidewalls and the cartridge sidewalls, where the riser extends a distance above the cartridge floor. The riser forms a conduit volume.
