Liquid separation device comprising a metallic mesh with a hydrophobic polymer coating

A device for separating liquids such as oil and water includes a hydrophobic and oleophilic mesh that allows oil to pass through while preventing water from passing through. The mesh can be fabricated simply from inexpensive materials by coating a mesh with a hydrophobic polymer.

According to some aspects, a method is provided of removing debris from a liquid photopolymer in an additive fabrication device. According to some embodiments, a mesh of solid material may be formed in an additive fabrication device from a liquid photopolymer, and particles of debris present in the liquid photopolymer may adhere to the mesh. The debris may thereby be removed from the liquid photopolymer by removing the mesh from the additive fabrication device. The mesh may then be discarded.

PRECISION FABRICATION OF NANOSIEVES

An exemplary method includes forming a sacrificial layer along sidewalls of an array of trenches that are indented into a substrate, depositing a fill layer over the sacrificial layer, and then creating an array of gaps between the fill layer and the substrate by removing the sacrificial layer along the sidewalls of the trenches, while maintaining a structural connection between the substrate and the fill layer at the floors of the trenches. The method further includes covering the substrate, the fill layer, and the gaps with a cap layer that seal fluid-tight against the substrate and the fill layer. The method further includes indenting a first reservoir and a second reservoir through the cap layer, and into the substrate and the fill layer, across the lengths of the array of gaps, so that the array of gaps connects the first reservoir in fluid communication with the second reservoir.

Filter media suitable for hydraulic applications

Filter media, including those suitable for hydraulic applications, and related components, systems, and methods associated therewith are provided. The filter media described herein may include two or more layers, at least one of the layers having a relatively high percentage of microglass fibers. Additionally, the filter media may be designed such that the ratio of average fiber diameters between two layers is relatively small, which can lead to a relatively low resistance ratio between the layers. In some embodiments, at least one layer of the filter media comprises synthetic polymer fibers. Certain filter media described herein may have desirable properties including high dirt holding capacity and a low resistance to fluid flow. The media may be incorporated into a variety of filter element products including hydraulic filters.

Filter bag sealing method and a filter bag sealed therewith

A method of sealing a filter bag at the stitched joints of the filtration material, consisting in forming the filter bag out of at least one filtration material piece, whereupon the surface of at least one filtration material edge being joined is covered with a liquid or semi-liquid layer of a sealant in such a way that the filtration material edges being joined are in contact with one another at least on the surface covered with the sealant. After the sealant layer has been applied, the filter bag elements prepared beforehand are combined together permanently by sewing them with a thread. A filter bag formed of at least one filtration material piece whose edges (2) and (3) are joined together with a thread (5), with at least one stitch, is characterised by the fact that at the stitched places between the adjoining surfaces of the filtration material edges (2) and (3) being combined there is a sealant layer (4), applied before sewing.

Fine fiber filter media and processes

Fine fiber products including fiber webs, as well as related assemblies, systems and methods, are described. In some embodiments, fiber webs described herein may include fine fibers and relatively low amounts of degraded polymer formed during a fiber extrusion process. The fiber webs may be used for filter media applications.

WBC FILTER AND FABRICATING METHOD THEREOF

We provide a WBC filter which comprises an input unit including two entrances, a first end means for injecting a whole blood and a buffer solution; a passage which a third end connects the second end of the entrance, wherein pluralities of pillars constructed in the passage; and an output unit connects to a fourth end of the passage, means for conducting a screened liquid and a purified liquid; wherein the whole blood and the buffer solution are introduced into the passage from the entrance by a driving force, and forms buffer solution laminar and waste liquid laminar; a large-size blood cells at the buffer solution laminar are lysed to form particulates by the red blood cell lysis buffer, and move toward a second side, thus enter the waste liquid laminar; and conducts the buffer solution laminar, whereby filters a purified liquid containing large amount of white blood cells.

Transmission Oil Filter Assembly

A transmission oil filter is assembled from a filter element, a base, and a cover. Each of the three pieces extends beyond the filtration media to form an inlet channel. The inlet channel is low enough to fit under a valve body. Placing the inlet in this channel ensures that the inlet draws transmission fluid at road gradients and acceleration rates at which an inlet under the filtration media would draw air.
