Closure for leaf filter in alumina production
09993755 · 2018-06-12 · ·

An edge closure system is presented herein wherein a portion of the closure edge of the filter bags leading to the outlet pipe aperture are provided with mating snapping closures, allowing to sealingly close the length of the edge of the fabric leading to the outlet pipe aperture simply by engaging the male and female components of the snapping closures. Moreover, an outlet pipe closure system is also presented herein using a combination of a tongue mounted internally to one of the sides of the fabric forming the bag in a manner to be wrappable around at least a corresponding portion of the outlet pipe, and a fabric hood mounted externally and overlapping both sides of the bag at the outlet pipe aperture, which cooperates with the tongue to seal the interface between the outlet pipe and the bag when held in position.

Disk type filtering apparatus

A fluid filtering apparatus such as for filtering particulates and other materials from treated water includes a tank and a filtering region configured as a plurality of individual effluent regions, defined in part by channel frames, disposed between a plurality of influent regions interposed between the effluent regions. A double sided backwash shoe is scannable in the influent regions, to simultaneously clean opposed filter media exposed thereto. The backwash shoe is free to move inwardly and outwardly of the opposed filter media. Additionally, the backwash shoe includes an end opening, positioned adjacent to the base of the tank, to remove sludge and particulates which have settled to the area near the base of the tank while backwashing a filter media.

Disk filter for preventing scale formation and water treatment apparatus and method using the same

The system relates to a disk filter for effectively preventing scale formation in a water treatment process, and to a water treatment apparatus and method using the same. The disk filter includes a housing having a cylindrical shape, a raw water inlet formed at a predetermined position on the side surface of the housing, a raw water outlet formed at a central region in the bottom of the housing, a backwash water outlet formed at a central region in the top of the housing, a ceramic filter provided in a circular disk shape inside the housing, and a scale formation inhibitor loaded in a flow channel formed inside the ceramic filter, wherein raw water introduced via the raw water inlet passes through the ceramic filter and then through the flow channel filled with the scale formation inhibitor, and is then discharged via the raw water outlet.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING WATER AND WASTEWATER EMPLOYING A CLOTH FILTER

A backwash header for a cloth filter includes a body having a length, a diameter, first and second ends, a longitudinal axis, and an exterior surface, the body defining at least one internal cavity. The body includes at least one suction slot sized to allow fluids and solids to enter the internal cavity from outside of the exterior surface. A structure is attached to a portion of the exterior surface of the body around and extending away from the suction slot to form an open-ended chamber defined by the structure and a portion of the exterior surface near the suction slot. The structure allows fluids and solids to enter the open-ended chamber and then the suction slot and cavity from a material being cleaned. Cloth filters and methods of treating water and wastewater using the backwash headers and cloth filters.

The filter for gel shearing and particle filtration of molten polymer has a first layer of metal fibers of an average equivalent diameter between 8 and 65 m. The cross-section of the metal fibers has two neighboring straight sides with an included angle of less than 90 and one or more irregularly shaped curved sides. The metal fibers have an average length of at least 6 mm. The metal fibers are bonded to each other by metal bonds; where the metal of the metal fibers of the first layer is the bonding agent forming the metal bonds. The filter has a second layer of metal fibers. The average equivalent diameter of the metal fibers of the second layer is smaller than the average equivalent diameter of the metal fibers of the first layer.
