FURNITURE SYSTEM
A furniture system includes an elongated chase having a body extending from a first end to a second end. The body has an upper surface and a lower surface. A first leg is coupled to the lower surface of the body and a second leg is coupled to the lower surface of the body and spaced apart from the first leg. Power cables are positioned within a cavity of the body, the power cables configured to connect to a building's power supply. A modular power unit is coupled to the lower surface of the body. The modular power unit includes a power outlet electrically coupled to the power cables.
Flip-top table for protection from projectiles
A flip-top table has a tabletop attached to a frame through a pivoting assembly. The tabletop is made from a ballistic-resistant material allowing it to be used as a ballistic shield when it rotates from its horizontal working position to a vertical shielding position. A front modesty panel is also ballistic-resistant and is mounted between the front legs of the frame. A lift speed restrictor is connected between the tabletop and the frame which prevents the user from lifting the tabletop too quickly which could topple the table, and it includes a biasing mechanism that provides a lifting force and helps to hold the tabletop in the shielding position. The table also includes visual indicators that readily indicate to persons around the table that the table can be converted into a ballistic shield. Casters allow one or more tables to be quickly moved and repositioned into a defensive arrangement.

MODULAR DESKS
Example modular desks are described herein. An example desk includes a first desk surface and a second desk surface coupled to the first desk surface. The second desk surface is moveable relative to the first desk surface between a first position in which the first desk surface and the second desk surface lie in a first plane and a second position in which the second desk surface is disposed in a second plane which is non-parallel to the first plane. The example desk includes a touchscreen coupled to the second desk surface. The touchscreen is exposed when the second desk surface is in the first position and when the second desk surface is in the second position. The example desk includes a processor operatively coupled to the touchscreen. The processor is to control a presentation of data via the touchscreen.
Detachable ballistic shield
A removable ballistic desk top is mated to a desk frame and can be removed in the event of an active shooter situation. The desk top has a top layer, a fabric layer, and a bottom layer. The fabric layer is a woven mesh and is bonded between the top and bottom layer. The desk top has a beveled edge that provides additional deflection of any projectiles when the beveled edge is placed near the floor. The desk top further includes handles and releasable latches for easy removal and installation to the desk frame.

Expandable table
An expandable table comprises first and second table surfaces connected by a first hinge at their adjoining short sides. First and second legs are fixed to an underside of the first table surface to support the first table surface. A third leg is fixed to an end of a slidable bar or mechanism wherein the slidable bar or mechanism is installed on an underside of the first table surface, wherein the slidable bar or mechanism is configured to be slid out from under the first table surface wherein the third leg provides support for the second table surface when the second table surface is unfolded and wherein the slidable bar or mechanism is configured to be slid under the first table surface wherein the third leg rests adjacent to the first leg when the second table surface is folded to lie on top of the first table surface.
