According to at least one aspect, the invention provides a filter assembly (100) comprising a tubular housing and a filter device (70) locatable to extend longitudinally within the housing. The filter device (70) comprises a lattice structure of crossing internal and external elongated elements (18, 20). The lattice structure comprises an arrangement of pores (22), and the external elongated elements (20) are presented outwardly of the filter device (70) with respect to the plane of the pores, thereby to provide ribs on the exterior of the lattice which define a shaped channel that will act as a first level filter for larger particles. The external elongated elements are shaped and arranged to provide one or more additional filter levels for smaller particles in advance of said pores, through which yet even smaller particles may pass.

RESIN SHEET WITH LARGE NUMBER OF WALL-LIKE PROJECTIONS PRESENT IN PARALLEL ON ONE SURFACE

A resin sheet contains: a sheet-like substrate of a resin; and wall-like projections (W) of the same resin having a certain height and standing upright on one surface of the substrate. The wall-like projections (W) are arranged on the surface of the substrate in at least 10 parallel rows with a certain spacing, and a large number of the wall-like projections (W), which satisfy the conditions (1) to (5) described in the specification, are present in parallel on the one surface of the substrate. The resin sheet is useful as a directional male hook-and-loop fastener whose male engaging elements are unlikely to break when a force is applied thereto and which does not provide a stimulus to the skin when it touches the surface of the fastener, as a filter for separating fine particles from a fluid, and as a display resin sheet.

A product that is an apparatus for removing debris from water containing such debris using a perforated plate, a backer plate, and a skimmer, positioned adjacent the back of the perforated plate to provide a means of removing debris from the perforated plate without scraping the debris from the perforated plate, the skimmer bar and the backer plate being synchronized in their movement.

Outdoor drain filter with flood protection
11761191 · 2023-09-19 ·

The invention described herein is that of an outdoor drain filter useful for maintaining the operability of an outdoor drain despite the accumulation of debris that would otherwise obstruct the outdoor drain, resulting in flood prevention of surrounding areas. The outdoor drain filter of the present invention is placed above and around an existing outdoor drain or may be integral with a drain cover or drain reservoir. The outdoor drain filter comprises upper and side filtration means allowing the free flow of water therethrough. The outdoor drain filter further comprises a diverter comprising at least one air vent and at least one lateral pipe that defines a maximum water level to which water will accumulate around the outdoor drain before being diverted into the drain through the diverter. The outdoor drain filter may a manufactured unit or of modular construction.

Multistage deterministic lateral displacement device for particle separation

Multistage deterministic lateral displacement devices, methods of forming the devices, and methods of separating a fluid mixture including particles having three or more particle sizes generally include a first module and at least one additional module. Each module includes a condenser portion and a separate portion. The condenser portion is generally configured to focus a streamline of all particles to a center of a channel whereas the separator separates the streamline of all particles into two different streamlines. One of the streamlines focuses the largest particles in the fluid mixture along a sidewall of the channel and the other streamline of smaller particles is between opposing sidewalls that define the channel. Each additional module can be used to further separate the largest particles remaining in the fluid mixture from the smaller particles.
