Floating pool skimmer
09879439 · 2018-01-30 · ·

A floating pool skimmer (1) that randomly travels across the surface of a pool to ensure that the entire surface of the water in the pool is cleaned. The floating pool skimmer has an elongated hose (3) that attaches to a conventional fixed pool skimmer, a vacuum inlet and/or a vacuum hose (6) connecting an automatic pool vacuum (2) to a pool pump and filter. A basket (26) held within a main housing (8) strains water and traps debris which is held in the basket by suction from the pool filter while the pool filter is operational. When the pool filter is not running a floating weir (17) and/or one or more weir doors (30) prevents debris from floating back out of the basket and into the pool. Apertures (14) located on the main housing allow water into the main housing that then acts as a ballast to ensure the floating pool skimmer remains upright at all times.

Water container with floatable filter system and method

A portable drinking water filter system, such as a pitcher, having a sleeve and a floatable body including a filter opening configured to receive a water filter, the floatable body having a seal extending outward from an outer surface of the floatable body. The floatable body is disposed in a sleeve cavity such that a body seal engages the sidewall and restricts water from passing between the floatable body and the sidewall. The seal is configured to create friction with the sidewall, wherein the friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is different than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve. The friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is greater than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve, allowing the floatable body to auto-retract toward a cavity base without burping.

FLOATING SUCTION HEAD ASSEMBLY
20170050129 · 2017-02-23 · ·

A floating suction head assembly for use with a hose, for drawing liquid into the hose. The assembly includes a float assembly, a gusset member coupled to the float assembly and a strainer assembly rotatably mounted to the gusset member. The strainer assembly has a coupling portion for coupling to a hose. The strainer assembly is rotatable relative to the gusset member and the float assembly about a central longitudinal axis defined by the strainer assembly. The strainer assembly includes a strainer cage defining an interior cavity, and a strainer cartridge selectively disposable in the interior cavity and retained therein. The strainer cartridge has a generally cylindrical configuration and rotates about the central longitudinal axis of the strainer assembly. The strainer cartridge includes a corrugated exterior surface including bent portions forming alternating furrow and ridge portions substantially about the circumference of the strainer cartridge.
