A system is provided for removing oil from an oil filter of a motor vehicle. The system includes a housing with a top rim, an upper portion, a lower portion, and a bottom rim. The top rim of the housing includes a first diameter. The housing includes the bottom rim with a second diameter that is less than the first diameter. The system also includes an upper cap with a flange including a first side and an opposing second side. The flange is disposed at a top portion of the upper cap. The first side of the flange is coupled to the top rim of the housing. A bottom portion of the upper cap extends into the housing. The upper cap includes a central aperture for draining the oil from the oil filter into the housing.

A system is provided for removing oil from an oil filter of a motor vehicle. The system includes a housing with a top rim, an upper portion, a lower portion, and a bottom rim. The top rim of the housing includes a first diameter. The housing includes the bottom rim with a second diameter that is less than the first diameter. The system also includes an upper cap with a flange including a first side and an opposing second side. The flange is disposed at a top portion of the upper cap. The first side of the flange is coupled to the top rim of the housing. A bottom portion of the upper cap extends into the housing. The upper cap includes a central aperture for draining the oil from the oil filter into the housing.

A filter assembly includes a drain port comprising a top portion and at least one surface modification along the top portion. The drain port defines an aperture therein and is alignable with an outlet port. The outlet port includes a seal member that is attachable to an end portion of the outlet port. A portion of the aperture of the drain port is sealable to the seal member when the drain port and the outlet port are aligned such that the at least one surface modification of the drain port does not abut the seal member of the outlet port, thereby creating a sealed connection between the drain port and the outlet port.

A filter assembly includes a drain port comprising a top portion and at least one surface modification along the top portion. The drain port defines an aperture therein and is alignable with an outlet port. The outlet port includes a seal member that is attachable to an end portion of the outlet port. A portion of the aperture of the drain port is sealable to the seal member when the drain port and the outlet port are aligned such that the at least one surface modification of the drain port does not abut the seal member of the outlet port, thereby creating a sealed connection between the drain port and the outlet port.

A fuel filter device for operation in a position under non-extreme conditions, when there is enough time for replacement of the clogged filter element, or in a reverse position in a fuel bypassing state for non-stop operation under extreme conditions, when there is no time for replacement of the clogged filter element. The device consists of cup-shaped members, which are interconnected through a threaded connection and form a cavity that contains a spring compressed between the bottom of an opening of one of the cup-shaped members and an abutment formed between two openings of another cup-shaped member. The compression force of the spring is applied to a seal ring placed into an annular groove formed in the abutment surface through a flange of the filter element. Another improved sealing feature is provided by a second seal ring, which seals the threaded connection, when the connection is tightened.

A device and method for removing debris from a process fluid are described herein. Specifically, a sanitary disc strainer includes a strainer body, a moveable guide rod assembly, moveable within the strainer body, a plurality of grooved discs stacked on the moveable guide rod assembly, and an actuator for moving the moveable guide rod assembly to compress and decompress the plurality of grooved discs.

A filter cartridge includes a threaded sleeve having a seal holder recess and seal member. The filter cartridge is for removably threading onto a filter head that includes threads for connection to the filter cartridge by way of the threaded sleeve. The filter head includes a ramp that engages the seal member to form a seal. The force needed to make the seal is a torque of less than 10 N-m.

A filter cartridge includes a threaded sleeve having a seal holder recess and seal member. The filter cartridge is for removably threading onto a filter head that includes threads for connection to the filter cartridge by way of the threaded sleeve. The filter head includes a ramp that engages the seal member to form a seal. The force needed to make the seal is a torque of less than 10 N-m.

A hollow filter element of a fluid filter has a coupling device for connecting with a first housing part of the filter housing when removing the hollow filter element from the second housing part. The coupling device is arranged at an axial end face opening of the hollow filter element. The hollow filter element can be joined by a rotation/insertion movement with the first or second housing part. The coupling device has guiding and entraining elements arranged circumferentially. A holding element extends circumferentially at the side of the guiding and entraining elements facing axially the outer side of the hollow filter element. Coupling elements for transmitting an axial pulling force can hook behind the holding element. The guiding and entraining elements are covered by the holding element radially inwardly and are connected force-transmittingly to the holding element so that the latter can be elastically stretched radially by them.

A hollow filter element of a fluid filter has a coupling device for connecting with a first housing part of the filter housing when removing the hollow filter element from the second housing part. The coupling device is arranged at an axial end face opening of the hollow filter element. The hollow filter element can be joined by a rotation/insertion movement with the first or second housing part. The coupling device has guiding and entraining elements arranged circumferentially. A holding element extends circumferentially at the side of the guiding and entraining elements facing axially the outer side of the hollow filter element.
