A liquid filter cartridge is provided. Preferred seal arrangements are provided, to provide for preferred axial load conditions, with respect to one or more of the end caps of the cartridge. Some cartridge configurations provided include no core structure or outer liner structure therein, to support axial load. Assemblies using the cartridge, and methods of assembly and use, are provided. The liquid filter cartridge can be a serviceable cartridge, or it can be retained permanently in a housing.

An exchangeable filter element of a liquid filter has a filter medium surrounding circumferentially a virtual axis of the filter element. A discharge closure element is arranged eccentrically at an axial end face of the filter element. The discharge closure element closes off a discharge opening of a discharge channel of the filter housing when the filter element is installed in the filter housing. The discharge channel serves to empty liquid from the filter when the filter element is removed. The discharge closure element has a limited circumferential expansion with respect to the virtual axis. The discharge closure element has a closure surface arranged at an axial end face of the discharge closure element. The closure surface is at least partially axially oriented. The closure surface rests so as to seal axially at a sealing section of the filter housing that surrounds the discharge opening of the filter housing.

An exchangeable filter element of a liquid filter has a filter medium surrounding circumferentially a virtual axis of the filter element. The discharge closure element closes off a discharge opening of a discharge channel of the filter housing when the filter element is installed in the filter housing. A filtration system includes a filter housing and a filter cartridge. The filter housing includes a base and a cover removably coupled to the base. The cover includes a retainer. The filter cartridge has a longitudinal axis and is movable between an installed position within the filter housing and an uninstalled position outside the filter housing. The filter cartridge includes a top endplate including at least one protrusion extending upwardly away from the top endplate. The protrusion includes a tab extending radially outward from the protrusion that is structured to interact with the retainer to removably couple the filter cartridge to the cover. The filter cartridge further includes a bottom endplate and a filter media extending axially between the top endplate and the bottom endplate.

A drain protector includes a basket and a wiper. The basket includes a basket body having first water openings. The basket body includes a seal at an upper first end and a retention member at a lower second end. The basket body is sized to be received in an associated drain, the seal for directly sealingly engaging an outer surface of the associated drain, and the retention member for directly engaging an inner surface of the associated drain. The wiper includes a wiper body having second water openings. The wiper body is removably mounted within the basket body for entrapping debris within water and removing the debris from within the basket body.

A drain protector includes a basket and a wiper. The basket includes a basket body having first water openings. The basket body includes a seal at an upper first end and a retention member at a lower second end. The basket body is sized to be received in an associated drain, the seal for directly sealingly engaging an outer surface of the associated drain, and the retention member for directly engaging an inner surface of the associated drain. The wiper includes a wiper body having second water openings. The wiper body is removably mounted within the basket body for entrapping debris within water and removing the debris from within the basket body.

The present invention provides a foldable oil filter unit that a drain pin thereof can be easily separated. The foldable oil filter includes a cap receiving a filter; a drain pin disposed on a bottom side of the filter; and a capturing part disposed on a bottom side of the filter and detachably, rotatably capturing the drain pin.

In some embodiments, a system for pre-wetting a filter includes a filter, a piping system, a first gas, a second gas, a first buffer tank, and a second buffer tank. The first gas drives the solvent to clean the filter. The two buffer tanks store the solvent discharged from the filter. The second gas selectively drives the solvent in the first buffer tank to return to the filter and then to be discharged into the second buffer tank. Alternatively, the second gas selectively drives the solvent in the second buffer tank to return to the filter and then to be discharged into the first buffer tank.
