System for separating solids from a fluid stream
10857488 · 2020-12-08 · ·

A system for separating solids from a fluid includes a containment vessel having a V-shaped tank in fluid communication with an agitated overflow tank. Baffles within the V-shaped tank provide a series of zones where the fluid is deposited for processing. A shaftless auger at the bottom of the V-shaped tank transfers solids to an area where they are pumped to a first hydrocyclone assembly associated with a first shaker. Overflow from the hydrocyclone assembly and underflow from the first shaker is further processed by a second hydrocyclone assembly associated with a second shaker. Overflow from the second hydrocyclone assembly and underflow from the second shaker are deposited into overflow tank which contains the cleaned fluid.

WATER DRAIN MECHANISM FOR FILTER ASSEMBLIES

A water drain assembly for draining water from a filter assembly comprises a conduit, a water canister, and a venturi. The conduit fluidly connects a bottom portion of the filter assembly to a bottom portion of the water canister. The venturi comprises a first venturi inlet that allows fluid to flow from the fuel tank and into the venturi, a second venturi inlet that allows fluid to flow from the water canister and into the venturi, and a venturi outlet that allows fluid to flow from the venturi and into the filter assembly. The second venturi may comprise a capillary.

Particle separating system

A particle separating system for supplying a cam shaft phase adjuster with cleaned lubricating oil. The phase adjuster includes a stator, a rotor connectable to a cam shaft, and a control valve for hydraulically adjusting the rotational angular position of the rotor relative to the stator. The particle separating system includes an oil separator arranged in the flow of the lubricating oil, upstream of an oil gallery of an engine supplied with the lubricating oil, exhibiting a separation efficiency of at least 50% for particles having a size P1 and a separation efficiency of at least 90% at a size P2>P1; a particle separator arranged downstream of the oil separator and upstream of the phase adjuster or control valve, to clean the lubricating oil for the phase adjuster. The particle separator exhibits a separation efficiency of 50% at a size P3, where P1<P3<100 m.

Flow back separation system and method
10751654 · 2020-08-25 · ·

A flow back system for separating solids from a slurry recovered from a hydrocarbon well. The system includes a V-shaped tank with a first series of baffles configured to cause the settling of solids that are moved by a shaftless auger to a conduit fluidly connected to hydrocyclones mounted over a linear shaker. The overflow from the hydrocyclones is discharged through a second conduit back into the tank for processing by a second series of baffles resulting in a clean effluent. The clean effluent is recirculated in the well.

The present invention relates to a method for treatment of a slurry comprising a liquid and particles suspended in the liquid. The method comprising the steps of providing a slurry to be treated; subjecting the slurry to a separating stage in which the particles of the slurry are divided into at least two subsets, a first subset being generally less difficult to dewater than a second subset; feeding a pressure filter with a flow of the first and second subsets, wherein in a first feeding step, a major part of the flow is defined by the first subset and in a subsequent second feeding step, a major part of the flow is defined by the second subset.
