Filter media including flame retardant fibers
Filter media including a filtration layer comprising fibers (e.g., synthetic fibers) comprising a flame retardant and related components, systems, and methods associated herewith are provided. In some embodiments, a filtration layer may include a nonwoven web (e.g., wet-laid nonwoven web) comprising fibers including a certain flame retardant that has a relatively low concentration of or is substantially free of certain undesirable and/or toxic components (e.g., halogens). In certain embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of fibers. For instance, in some embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of coarse and fine diameter synthetic fibers that impart beneficial performance properties to the filtration layer. In some embodiments, the filtration layer may be designed to have a desirable flame retardancy (e.g., F1 rating, K1 rating) and performance properties without compromising certain mechanical properties (e.g., pleatability of the media) and/or environmental attributes (e.g., relatively low toxicity). Filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering air, though the media may also be used in other applications.
COMPOSITE FILTER AND AIR PURIFIER INCLUDING SAME
A composite filter includes a filter unit including a filter member having filtering parts, at least one filter module arranged in parallel with at least one of the filtering parts, and a bracket supporting the filtering parts disposed adjacent to each other and the filter module so that the filtering parts disposed adjacent to each other are rotatable. The bracket includes a folded portion that is selectively folded according to the relative rotation of the filtering parts, and attachment portions connected to the folded portion with the folded portion interposed therebetween, and attached to the side surfaces of the filtering parts disposed adjacent to each other. The folded portion and the attachment portions are provided integrally and are formed of a flexible material, and the attachment portion extend to the side surface of the filter module adjacent thereto to seal a gap between the filtering part and the filter module.

Modular porous swale
A modular porous swale. The modular porous swale may comprise a porous concrete block and filtration joint. The porous concrete block may snugly fit within a trench having a lower portion filled with an absorption media. The absorption media may include gravel, activated alumina, bone char, or an activated alumina and bone char mixture. The porous concrete block may have a top surface inwardly-sloped to a nadir. The filtration joint may be disposed within the porous concrete block and along the nadir. The liner may cover one or more sides of the porous concrete block. The perforated pipe may be located within the absorption media. The filtration joint may substantially align above a portion of the perforated pipe when the modular porous swale is installed within the trench.

AIR FILTER WITH PATHOGEN MONITORING AND INACTIVATION
An improved technology for inactivation of viruses, for example the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is causing the Covid-19 pandemic, is described. The technology can include a device that includes a substrate coated in a polymer that is infused with a pathogen inactivating material. In various embodiments, at a given time, a portion of the pathogen inactivating material is exposed to the environment, and the device is configured to periodically or intermittently expose additional pathogen inactivating material to the environment. For example, the polymer can be ablative or sacrificial.
SELF-DISINFECTING ANTIVIRAL FILTER MATERIAL, MANUFACTURING AND USE THEREOF, AND AIR FILTER DEVICE WITH THE FILTER MATERIAL
A self-disinfecting antiviral filter material 10 includes an air-permeable carrier 11 and a composite coating 12 including at least one color pigment 13 with antiviral activity and an inorganic matrix material 14 bonded to the carrier 11. The at least one color pigment 13 preferably includes at least one compound from the group of phthalocyanines. The matrix material is preferably selected from the group including metal oxides. An air filter device including the self-disinfecting antiviral filter material, a method of manufacturing the filter material, and a method of inactivating viruses are also described.
