The filter is disposed in the opening portion and includes a first side and a second side. The first side is located adjacent to the inside of the filter holding device. The second side is located adjacent to the outside of the filter holding device. The filter has a larger weight density per unit volume at the second side than a weight density per unit volume at the first side and has a larger area of a surface intersecting a communication direction at the second side than an area of a surface intersecting the communication direction at the first side.

A portable air purifier may include a case having an accommodation space, a front side and a rear side of which are open; a fan assembly accommodated in the accommodation space and including a blower fan; a fan cover disposed in front of and coupled to the fan assembly in the accommodation space; and a filter module disposed behind the fan assembly in the accommodation space. A scrubber for treating exhaust gas generated by combustion of biomass comprises a plurality of chambers each configured to apply a scrubbing medium to the exhaust gas for removing solid particles from the exhaust gas. A first chamber includes at least one nozzle configured to dispense scrubbing liquid in a sheet oriented transversely to a path of flow of exhaust through the first chamber. A second chamber defines a reservoir for containing a bath of scrubbing liquid and further includes a baffle configured to deflect the exhaust gas into the bath. A third chamber is arranged to support a sheet of solid filter medium spanning across the chamber.

A filter element for an air filter of a motor vehicle includes a frame part which surrounds a filter material of the filter element. The filter element is insertable into a receiving space which is provided by a housing of the air filter. The filter element has a holding element which is movable from an initial position into a functional position by inserting the filter element in the receiving space. In the functional position, a fastening element can be fixed to the holding element. The fastening element is configured for securing a cover element, which is used to close an insertion opening of the receiving space, to the housing.

A filter element for an air filter of a motor vehicle includes a frame part which surrounds a filter material of the filter element. The filter element is insertable into a receiving space which is provided by a housing of the air filter. The filter element has a holding element which is movable from an initial position into a functional position by inserting the filter element in the receiving space. In the functional position, a fastening element can be fixed to the holding element. The fastening element is configured for securing a cover element, which is used to close an insertion opening of the receiving space, to the housing.

A laundry appliance includes a drum for processing laundry. A blower delivers process air through an airflow path that includes the drum. A lint filter is positioned within the airflow path that separates particulate matter from the process air to define entrapped lint particles. A lint disposal mechanism removes the entrapped lint particles from a surface of the lint filter to define removed lint. A holding compartment receives the removed lint for disposal.
