PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR MEMBRANE SEPARATION OF A MIXTURE CONTAINING HYDROGEN AND CARBON DIOXIDE AS MAIN COMPONENTS
A process for membrane separation of a mixture containing as main, or even major, components hydrogen and carbon dioxide and also at least one other component, for example chosen from the following group: carbon monoxide, methane and nitrogen, including: heating of the mixture in the heat exchanger, permeation of the reheated mixture in a first membrane separation unit making it possible to obtain a first permeate which is a hydrogen and carbon dioxide enriched relative to the mixture, and a first residue which is hydrogen and carbon dioxide lean, permeation of the first residue in a second membrane separation unit making it possible to obtain a second residue, at least one portion of the first permeate is compressed in a booster compressor and the second residue is expanded in a turbine, the booster compressor being driven by the turbine.
GAS SEPARATION METHOD AND ZEOLITE MEMBRANE
A gas separation method includes supplying a mixed gas to a zeolite membrane complex and permeating a high permeability gas through the zeolite membrane complex to separate the high permeability gas from other gases. The mixed gas includes a high permeability gas and a trace gas that is lower in concentration than the high permeability gas. The molar concentration of a first gas included in the trace gas in the mixed gas is higher than the molar concentration of a second gas included in the trace gas in the mixed gas. The adsorption equilibrium constant of the first gas on the zeolite membrane is less than 60 times that of the high permeability gas. The adsorption equilibrium constant of the second gas on the zeolite membrane is 400 times or more that of the high permeability gas.
DEPOLYMERIZATION OF RECOVERED PLASTIC MATERIALS
Described herein are systems and methods for the depolymerization of polyethylene-based plastics. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed that comprises combining a polyethylene-based plastic with a solvent in a reactor to generate a plastic solvent mixture, heating the plastic solvent mixture in the reactor, and fractionating the plastic solvent mixture into a gas phase product, a solid phase product, and a liquid phase product. In another embodiment, a system is disclosed that comprises a solvent, and a reactor configured to receive the polyethylene-based plastic and the solvent and convert the polyethylene-based plastic into a gas phase product, a solid phase product, and a liquid phase product, the reactor being configured to operate at a temperature greater than 275° C. and at a pressure greater than 2 megapascals.
Porous Polybenzimidazole Membrane Supports for Composite Membranes
The present invention provides highly permeable and porous polybenzimidazole membranes, methods of making them, and their application as a high-performance membrane support for gas separation composite membranes. The polybenzimidazole membranes are bonded to a fabric substrate.
Graphene membrane filter for gas separation
The invention relates to carbon supported crack- and tear-free graphene membranes of large area useful for selective gas separation, method of preparation and uses thereof. In particular, the invention relates to carbon supported crack- and tear-free graphene membranes having good gas separation performance, in particular high H.sub.2 permeance and H.sub.2/CH.sub.4 selectivities.

High speed rotating crankcase ventilation filter media and media pack
Filter media and media packs that provide robust performance in high-speed rotating coalescer (HSRC) elements for crankcase ventilation systems are described. The fiber media is HSRC fiber media. As such, the filter media has a higher resistance to compressibility then traditional coalescer filter media, such as fiber media used in low-speed rotating coalescer arrangements or stationary coalescer arrangements.

The present disclosure is directed to ion-exchange systems and devices that can monitor key parameters related to the performance of the ion-exchange device. Specifically, the ion-exchange systems and devices disclosed herein can provide real time voltage drop across groups of membrane pairs using diagnostic spacer borders between the pairs. In addition, the ion-exchange systems and devices disclosed herein can monitor the compression force applied by the compression plates holding the ion-exchange systems and devices together.
