For example, the present disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to a cross-flow fluid filtration assembly comprising (a) membrane housing comprising a plurality of hexagonal prism shaped membranes (b) an inlet configured to receive the contaminated fluid and to channel a contaminated fluid to the first end of the plurality of hexagonal prism shaped membranes, and (c) an outlet configured to receive a permeate released from the second end of the plurality of hexagonal shaped membranes. The present disclosure also relates to a cross-flow fluid filtration module comprising a fluid path defined by a contaminated media inlet chamber, a fluid filtration assembly positioned in a permeate chamber and a concentrate chamber.

Filtration filter

A filtration filter is suitable for performing cross-flow filtration by using a metallic porous membrane. A metallic porous membrane has a membrane portion for filtering filtration objects contained in a fluid and a held portion provided at its outer periphery. A first frame member and a second frame member hold the held portion of the metallic porous membrane there between. The held portion has a bent portion bent to a second principal surface side opposing a first principal surface of the membrane portion. The first frame member is in contact with the held portion at the first principal surface side of the metallic porous membrane. The second frame member is disposed at an inner side portion of the first frame member and is in contact with the held portion at the second principal surface side of the metallic porous membrane.

Spiral membrane module

Provided is a spiral membrane module which is suitable for being set up in the vertical direction since at one end of its pressure vessel, the supply of feed liquid and the discharge of concentrated liquid can be attained.

Process for making a porous filter element, porous filter elements made thereby, and filter devices including them

The present disclosure relates more to processes for making a filter element that includes a filter membrane having a strip of thermoplastic polymer material laminated thereto, for example, as a strip along an edge of the filter membrane. For example, one such process includes providing a sheet of filter membrane having a first surface and an opposed second surface; providing a strip of thermoplastic polymer material having a first surface and an opposed second surface; contacting the first surface of the strip of thermoplastic polymer material with the first surface of the filter membrane; and softening the strip of thermoplastic polymer material at at least its first surface by irradiation with laser radiation; such that the softened polymer material of the first surface of the strip of thermoplastic polymer material bonds to the first surface of the filter membrane upon hardening.

A housing of a separation apparatus includes therein a zeolite membrane complex. A sheath includes therein the housing. A fluid supplied to the inside of the housing has a temperature higher than the temperature around the sheath. A second exhaust port is used to exhaust a permeated substance that has permeated through the zeolite membrane complex in the fluid to the outside of the housing. The permeated substance exhausted from the housing can be led into an exterior space between the sheath and the housing through the second exhaust port and can be exhausted through an exterior exhaust port. At least part of the zeolite membrane complex is included in an inter-port space surrounded by the sheath, the second exhaust port, and the exterior exhaust port. This structure reduces energy required for fluid separation performed under high temperatures.

Provided are (a) a permeation-side flow path material for use in a spiral membrane element, the permeation-side flow path material comprising a resin sheet comprising a plurality of ridge portions 31 formed parallel to one another; and a plurality of openings 32 formed between each pair of the ridge portions 31, (b) a method for producing such a permeation-side flow path material, and (c) a membrane element having such a permeation-side flow path material.

Polyurethane adhesives for reverse osmosis modules

An adhesive composition is made from a first part containing an isocyanate group-containing prepolymer that is a reaction product of a first isocyanate and at least one polyol; and a second isocyanate that is essentially unreacted with the first isocyanate, the at least one polyol, and the isocyanate group containing prepolymer; and a second part containing at least two polyols; wherein the adhesive composition is essentially free of diluent oils and solvents. A polyurethane adhesive is made by mixing the first part and the second part in a 1:1 to 1.2:1 weight ratio of the first part to the second part to form a mixture, and curing the mixture. The polyurethane adhesive can be used in articles, including semipermeable membranes and reverse osmosis modules. When a solvent is filtered through the semipermeable membranes by reverse osmosis, the polyurethane adhesive prevents or reduces osmotic blistering.

In manufacturing an oxygenator (10), an intermediate spacer (18) is arranged between an inner cylinder unit (13) configured by winding a first hollow fiber membrane (14a) and an outer cylinder unit (15) configured by winding a second hollow fiber membrane (16a) so that a first gap (100a) is formed between one end portions of the inner cylinder unit (13) and the outer cylinder unit (15), and a first partition section (62a) is inserted into the first gap (100a). A first end portion (18a) of the intermediate spacer (18) is located at a region which does not overlap the first partition section (62a) in a radial direction. The intermediate spacer (18) independently supports the outer cylinder unit (15) in a state in which a gap (Sa) is formed between an inner peripheral surface of the intermediate spacer (18) and an outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder unit (13).
