Humidifier
A humidifier having a multiplicity of metallic flow plates and a multiplicity of water transfer membranes, in particular for humidifying process gas for an electrochemical system or for HVAC applications is described. The humidifier has a construction in which the metallic flow plates and the water transfer membranes are arranged such that in each case at most one of the single-layer flow plates is arranged between adjacent water transfer membranes of the stack; and at least one of the water transfer membranes is in each case accommodated in a sealing manner, in particular clamped in a sealing manner, between the mutually facing sealing lines of adjacent flow plates of the stack. The humidifier has lower production costs, greater efficiency and lower weight.
Accurate biocide dosing for low concentration membrane biofouling control applications
Biocide can be controllably added to a feed stream for a membrane. In some examples, the feed stream is separated into a primary feed stream and a secondary feed stream, for example, with the secondary feed stream having a lower flow rate than the primary feed stream. The secondary feed stream may be used to monitor and control the addition of the biocide, which is then diluted when the secondary feed stream is combined with the primary feed stream to form a combined stream for delivery to the membrane.
Devices, systems, and methods for continuous processing with alternating tangential flow
The present disclosure relates to tangential flow filters, membranes, and ultrafiltration membranes, for various applications, including bioprocessing and pharmaceutical applications, systems employing such filters, and methods of filtration using the same. In an aspect, an alternating tangential flow system for continuous processing may include a feed line containing a fluid. A retentate line may be in fluid communication with the feed line. A first diaphragm may be at an inlet of the retentate line configured to pump fluid toward an outlet of the retentate line. A second diaphragm may be at the outlet of the retentate line configured to pump fluid toward the inlet of the retentate line. A membrane may be in fluid communication with the retentate line between the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm. A retentate pump may be at the retentate outlet configured to pump the fluid out of the retentate line.

Flow path spacer and spiral membrane element
A flow path spacer (13) of the present disclosure includes a plurality of first linear portions (21) and a plurality of second linear portions (22). There are a first pair (P1), a second pair (P2), and a third pair (P3), the first pair (P1) is at least one selected from a pair of the first linear portions (21) adjacent to each other and disposed at a first interval (W1) and a pair of the second linear portions (22) adjacent to each other and disposed at a first interval (W1), the second pair (P2) is at least one selected from a pair of the first linear portions (21) adjacent to each other and disposed at a second interval (W2) narrower than the first interval (W1) and a pair of the second linear portions (22) adjacent to each other and disposed at a second interval (W2) narrower than the first interval (W1), and the third pair (P3) is at least one selected from a pair of the first linear portions (21) adjacent to each other and disposed at a third interval (W3) narrower than the second interval (W2) and a pair of the second linear portions (22) adjacent to each other and disposed at a third interval (W3) narrower than the second interval (W2).
Vacuum filtration system
The present disclosure relates to a vacuum filter that incorporates a large area pleated filter element having pleated hydrophilic membrane configured along slanting surface in pyramid shape and incorporated with in a filter housing that can be accommodated in neck of a filtrate container. The disclosed configuration reduces overall height of the filtering system improving its stability and reducing space requirement. Further, top portion of the filter housing is configured to receive either a feed cup for direct feeding of feed liquid by pouring in the cup or a fitting with tube that can be used to suck the feed from a feed solution container under action of a vacuum thus allowing universal use. In another embodiment, a single hydrophobic membrane is provided to avoid problems of low flow due to bubbles coming with the feed solution and also to allow restart of filtration without air lock.
