The present invention relates to a modular storage system for barrels. The modular storage system includes a base rick module, an aisle rick module, and an end rick module, whereby a plurality of each module type may be assembled to construct a rickhouse.

The assembly station can include a vertical post assembly station, transfer rollers, a main module assembly area, dunnage supports, and a dunnage feeder conveyor system.

A modular shelving unit includes a base plate that is planar in an expanded configuration. A first foldable wall is connected to a first side of the base plate. A second foldable wall is connected to a second side of the base plate. The first foldable wall has a first segment and a second segment, and the second foldable wall has a third segment and a fourth segment. The system is convertible between a display configuration and a stacked transport/storage configuration. Each case has rabbet ledges (62, 64) at its upper and lower edges for cooperating with adjacent cases. The outer surface of each case has one or more magnets provided to facilitate secure interaction between adjacent cases arranged in the display configuration.

A set of panels includes a first panel having a first main plane and a second panel having a second main plane. The panels are provided with a mechanical locking device for locking a first edge of the first panel to a second edge of the second panel. The mechanical locking device includes an edge groove at the first edge, wherein an edge tongue of the second edge is insertable into the edge groove. A modular shelving unit includes a plurality of shelves supported by supports. Non-linear attachment pins are attached to the top of a lower shelf and received in upper supports which support an upper shelf. The attachment pins are bent so that they are wider than holes in the upper supports; bending the attachment pins elastically and maintaining them elastically bent when the shelving unit is in an assembled state.

A storage assembly includes top and bottom walls, a pair of end walls extending between the top and bottom walls and cooperating with the top and bottom walls to define an interior space, and at least one end surface configured to closely interfit with at least one end surface of an adjacent storage assembly that is substantially similar to the storage assembly at a predefined angular orientation such that a longitudinal axis of the storage assembly is angularly offset from a longitudinal axis of the adjacent storage assembly when the at least one end surface of the storage assembly is interfit with the at least one surface of the adjacent storage assembly The storage assembly may also include a pair of interior walls and a handle relief extending into the top wall and/or a frame assembly located between one of the end walls and one of the interior walls.
