PROCESS FOR CAPTURING CO2 FROM A MOBILE SOURCE USING AN AMINO ACID SOLVENT
A carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) capture system to reduce CO.sub.2 emissions comprises an absorption zone and a regeneration zone. The absorption zone captures CO.sub.2 from exhaust gas by absorption in a liquid solvent separated from the exhaust gas by a separator. The liquid solvent comprises a blend of alkali metal salts of two or more amino or amino-sulfonic acids, thereby forming a first constituent and a second constituent. The first constituent is a primary or secondary amino or amino sulfonic acid with molar mass of less than 200 g/mol. The second constituent has a molar mass of less than 300 g/mol. The regeneration zone may rejuvenate the liquid solvent rich in captured CO.sub.2 by heating so that a resulting liquid solvent with a low concentration of CO.sub.2 is pumped back to the absorption zone. An on-board CO.sub.2 capture and storage system for a mobile internal combustion engine and a method for capturing CO.sub.2 are also described.
GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE CARTRIDGE WITH CLAMSHELL RETAINER
A cartridge for non-cryogenically separating a gas into components includes a plurality of hollow polymeric fibers, the fibers being anchored by a pair of tubesheets, each tubesheet being adjacent to a head, the tubesheet and head being joined by a clamshell retainer. The cartridge does not have a core tube. The fibers are enclosed within a sleeve, the sleeve being sufficiently thin so as to be a non-structural element. The cartridge may be inserted within a larger pressure vessel. The cartridge of the present invention can accommodate more fibers than comparable cartridges of the prior art, and therefore has greater throughput.

UIO-66-NH.SUB.2.doped organosilicon high salinity wastewater treatment membrane and a preparation method thereof
The invention belongs to the technical field of composite membrane, and in particular discloses a UIO-66-NH.sub.2 doped organosilicon high salinity wastewater treatment membrane and a preparation method thereof. The membrane is formed into UIO-66-NH.sub.2/organosilicon hybrid membrane on the prefabricated ceramic support surface through the dip-coating method by doping the UIO-66-NH.sub.2 metal-organic framework material into the organosilicon polymeric sol. The UIO-66-NH.sub.2/organosilicon hybrid membrane prepared by the present invention exhibits high water permeability (up to 1.6×10.sup.−10 m.sup.3/(m.sup.2 s Pa) and high salt retention (NaCl retention rate is more than 99.9. %) in the application of pervaporation desalination, and maintains stable membrane structure in the treatment process of TDS>5 wt % high salinity wastewater.

Plasma separation device
Devices and methods are provided that permit efficient and selective separation of liquid biological specimens into at least two constituent components to facilitate subsequent quantitative and qualitative analysis on at least one analyte of interest in at least one of the components. The devices generally include one or more sample deposition regions supported on a base. Each sample deposition region includes a separation membrane for separating the liquid biological specimen into two different fractions. The first fraction is trapped by the separation membrane while the second fraction passes through the separation membrane and into a respective collection membrane. The separation and collection membranes are easily separable from the devices and can be utilized for further processing and analysis.
