Filter element
Fibrous porous filter elements formed by joining two fibrous porous sections, porous filters comprising the joined sections, filter baskets and filter devices comprising the elements and filters, methods of making the filter elements and filters, and methods of filtration using the filter elements and filters, are disclosed.
SELF CLEANING FILTER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A filter apparatus includes a filter, such as a cartridge, positioned within a housing. The filter apparatus has multiple ports and valves, so as to allow a user to easily switch between a filtration mode of filtering fluids and a maintenance mode of cleaning the filter. The filter can have a filter substrate in a housing and after filtrate builds up on the substrate, the substrate can be cleaned by directing a spray of fluid, such as from a ring of nozzles at the top of the housing, onto the substrate. A maintenance port can be provided to drain the debris washed from the substrate. The filter can switch between a backwash mode and a filtration mode.
Cassette filter having a filter element with special folding
A cassette filter for cleaning a fluid includes: a frame; and a plurality of filter elements having a filter medium provided with a folding. The plurality of filter elements are accommodated in a frame such that at least two adjoining filter elements of the plurality of filter elements are arranged at an acute angle to one another and form a V-shaped arrangement. Each of the plurality of filter elements has folded edges which are formed by fold peaks and fold valleys and extend perpendicularly to legs of the acute angle. Each filter element of the plurality of filter elements is provided with foldings such that a height of the respective filter element is smaller at all edge regions than a height in a central region of the respective filter element, and smaller folding surfaces than the central region result at the edge regions.
COALESCING MEDIA
Some embodiments relate to a filter material for coalescing a dispersed phase in a continuous phase. The filter material has binder fibers and irregular rayon fibers distributed among the binder fibers. The filter material lacks non-fibrous resin. Some embodiments relate to a filter assembly. The filter assembly has a particle filtration layer, a coalescing layer downstream of the particle filtration layer, and a growth media downstream of the coalescing layer. The coalescing layer is coupled to the particle filtration layer. The growth media has irregular rayon fibers and binder fibers distributed among the irregular rayon fibers. The growth media lacks non-fibrous resin.
FILTER MEDIA INCLUDING FIBERS COMPRISING A MATRIX POLYMER AND IMPACT MODIFIER, AND RELATED METHODS
Filter media including fibers comprising a matrix polymer and impact modifier, and related methods, are generally described.
INTEGRATED MODULE WITH STAGE ONE AND STAGE TWO FILTERS COMBINED IN SINGLE HOUSING
A filter assembly includes a filter housing having a longitudinal axis, the filter housing divided into a first filter chamber and a second filter chamber, a first element bottom endplate, a second element top endplate, an intermediate endplate positioned along the longitudinal axis between the second element top endplate and the first element bottom endplate, a first filter element housed within the first filter chamber and comprising first filter media positioned between the first element bottom endplate and the intermediate endplate, and a second filter element housed within the second filter chamber and comprising second filter media positioned between the second element top endplate and the intermediate endplate.
Filtration media, filter packs, and filter elements with protrusions
Pleated filtration media, filtration media packs, and filtration elements containing projections are disclosed. The pleated filtration media includes projections on at least one surface, the projections configured to engage adjacent media sheets so as to reduce masking of the media. The pleated media and media pleat packs contain protrusions on the surface of the media. These protrusions are three dimensional structures that are on the surface of the media and are provided by forming the protrusion directly in the filtration media or applying structures, such as adhesive beads, or onto one or both faces of the media. Elongation of the adhesive bead can facilitate greater separation of the adjacent faces of pleated media if desired. These protrusions, also referred to herein as projections or dimples, can either contact each other or contact flat media and keep adjacent media faces from becoming in intimate contact with each other.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FLUID FILTRATION
A filter device provides designs that permit variable levels of solid particle removal. The filter device retains the particles in the filter medium when removed, thus avoiding the re-entry of the particles when the power system has cooled down which occurs in conventional filters currently in use. The filter device incorporates elements made from stainless steel for (a) durability and high mechanical strength to endure high continuous flow pressures; (b) ductility so as to be pleated and shaped into a cylinder; (c) corrosion and high temperature resistance; (d) particulate removal in the range of 4-20 microns depending on the desired performance characteristics; (e) high percentage of contaminant removal; and (f) recyclability and reusability.
Filter element having flow directing tube and standpipe and filter systems including the filter element
Filter elements and filter systems are provided. The filter element allows for a reversed flow of fluid through the filter element when flowing from a first port to a second port of a filter head of the filter system. The filter element includes a standpipe in a central cavity of a tube of filter media that is fluidly connected with an exterior of the tube of filter media by a radial flow conduit and an axial flow tube.
FILTER MEDIA, FILTER CARTRIDGE CONTAINING FILTER MEDIA, AND METHOD OF FILTERING WATER
A filter medium for removing contaminants from water includes a matrix including a plurality of fibers having an electrostatic charge such that the matrix is configured to remove contaminants from water by electrostatic attraction. The filter medium further includes a filler material including a ceramic substrate containing a mineral. The filler material is embedded in the matrix. When water flows through the filter medium, the mineral at least partially dissolves in the water such that a cavity is formed in the matrix in a location of the at least partially dissolved mineral.
