Elastically Deformable Component Providing Indication of Proper Fluid Filter Installation and Related Methods
An apparatus having a threaded bottom assembly for interfacing to connect the bottom assembly to a second structure with threads, having a deformable element that, when sufficient force is applied via the process of threading the bottom assembly to the second structure, and at an appropriate value of axial compression or pressure, passes from a stable state, through a rapid shape transformation to a second state via a regime of reduced resistance to deformation, creating a tactile or audible indication that the apparatus has been properly installed. The deformable element may be joined to the apparatus using a circumferential ring by friction fit or spring fit, and may adhere magnetically to the second structure to facilitation installation.
ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR FILTERING FLUIDS
A filtering apparatus includes a filtering screen removably positioned within an inner cavity of a screen chamber. The screen includes a frame portion at a first end and a screen portion extending from the frame portion to a second end. The frame portion includes an end block and frame members extending from the end block to the screen portion, with the frame members defining an aperture. The screen portion includes an outer wall extending from a fluid inlet to an end cap at the second end. The outer wall includes a plurality of openings therethrough. The screen chamber includes a removable end cover with a key configured to engage a notch of the screen to rotationally lock the screen and the end cover. A screen manifold may include a first fluid path including the screen chamber, and further including a bypass fluid path having a bypass valve.
Fuel filter assembly and cartridge
A draw latch retainer is used to secure a filter cartridge to a filter head. A cam actuated retainer extends from the head to engage a keeper in the top of the cartridge. Rotation of the cam draws the retainer and cartridge axially toward the head into an installed position. The retainer extends through an aperture in the upper portion of the cartridge to apply a retention force against the bottom side of the keeper. The keeper and upper portion of the cartridge supporting the keeper are configured to transmit the retaining force laterally across the top of the cartridge. A pair of axial conduits project from the cartridge and mount O-ring seals for implementing an axial sealing interface with passages in the head.
FILTER SYSTEM FOR A FLUID, IN PARTICULAR OIL OR FUEL
A filter system for a fluid has a cup-shaped filter housing provided with a support pipe which is aligned along a longitudinal axis of the filter housing and fixedly joined to the filter housing. A filter element is arranged around the support pipe. The support pipe is a fluid passage. The filter housing has a fluid passage at an open end thereof and is provided with a circumferentially extending seal element that seals relative to a connection flange when the filter housing is mounted as intended at the connection flange. The support pipe has a screw thread at an end facing away from the filter housing. The screw thread provides a screw connection to the connection flange. The support pipe has, arranged along a length extension of the support pipe, at least one outlet for fluid. The support pipe and the filter housing are formed together as one piece.
Removal system including removal aid and separating element
A removal system is provided with a separating element for separating contaminants contained in a fluid and with a removal aid for removing the separating element from a housing. The separating element has an end disk arranged at an end face of the separating element. The end disk has a central recess. The removal aid has a grip section and at least two locking fingers. The locking fingers extend along a center axis of the removal aid away from the grip section. Each locking finger has a hook element that serves for engaging behind the end disk of the separating element radially outside of an end disk area that delimits in radial outward direction immediately the central recess. A removal aid for such a removal system is provided.
Filter housings, purification skids and methods of use thereof
Described herein are a filter housing, a purification skid, a modular filter apparatus and methods of use thereof. The filter housing can accommodate one or more different types of filters and can be employed in an equipment skid.
FILTER, FILTER ELEMENT, HANDLE FOR REMOVING A FILTER ELEMENT, AND METHOD FOR DISASSEMBLY
A filter with a filter housing for an exchangeable filter element Includes a filter element latching action between filter housing and filter element that axially secures the filter element in the filter housing with radially movable latching members. A handle to pull the filter element from the housing includes a handle latching action between handle and filter element that holds the filter element with radially moveable latching fingers. Actuation surfaces between handle and filter element release the filter element latching action. Pushing the handle onto the filter element locks the handle latching action by the latching fingers while the actuation surfaces moving the latching members radially release the filter element latching action. For disassembly, the handle is pushed onto the filter element and the actuation surfaces release the latching members of the filter element latching action, and the filter element is pulled out by the handle.
REMOVAL SYSTEM AND REMOVAL AID FOR A SEPARATING ELEMENT
A removal system is provided with a separating element for separating contaminants contained in a fluid and with a removal aid for removing the separating element from a housing. The separating element has an end disk arranged at an end face of the separating element. The end disk has a central recess. The removal aid has a grip section and an intermediate plate with at least two projecting locking fingers. The locking fingers extend along a center axis of the removal aid away from the intermediate plate. Each locking finger has a hook element that serves for engaging behind the end disk of the separating element radially outside of an end disk area that delimits in radial outward direction the central recess. A removal aid for such a removal system is provided.
Underdrain filtered water collection systems with winged screen diffusers
An underdrain filtered water collection system includes: a pair of opposing drainpipes, each drainpipe having a plurality of collection drains; and a diffuser screen. The diffuser screen can slide within an outlet in each of the collection drains. A diffuser screen for a pressure vessel containing filter media includes: a screen pipe; a solid plate coupled to a base of the screen pipe; and a winged diffuser arranged around an outer circumference of the solid plate. The winged diffuser includes a plurality of foldable wings. The screen pipe includes a mesh screen having preconfigured interstices therethrough. Feed water flows through the screen pipe where it is directed by an inner surface of the solid plate to flow in a diffused flow through the interstices of the mesh screen and the wings.
Filter assemblies, depth indicators, torque-limiting fittings, torque-indicating fittings, and systems incorporating the same
In some examples, a filter assembly may include a filter including a first gasket having a first channel adjacent to a first side of the filter and a second gasket having a second channel adjacent to a second side of the filter. The first gasket and the second gasket may include a beveled surface adjacent to the filter. The first channel and the second channel may include a diameter of from about 0.01 mm to about 0.5 mm. A finger tightening system may securely hold the filter without any leaks.
