Microplastic filter for washing machines or other appliances
A microplastic filter includes a housing including an inlet configured to receive water. The microplastic filter also includes a fine filter disposed to rotate within the housing and configured to filter residues from the water. The microplastic filter further includes an inside wiper disposed within the fine filter. The inside wiper includes a center post disposed along a rotational axis of the fine filter and a helical curved wall spirally extending between the center post and the fine filter, where the helical curved wall is configured to guide a portion of the water to backflow through the fine filter and force away at least some filtered residues from pores of the fine filter to prevent fouling or clogging of the fine filter. In addition, the microplastic filter includes an outside wiper spirally disposed around the fine filter and configured to dislodge other filtered residues from the fine filter as the fine filter rotates.
Smoke Plume Capture
A smoke plume capture device includes a treatment portion having a sidewall extending from a distal end that is configured to contact a surface of a treatment area to a proximal end. The treatment portion defines a treatment cavity and the sidewall defines a plurality of venting apertures opening into the treatment cavity. The capture device also includes a coupling portion extending from the proximal end of the treatment portion, the coupling portion configured to removably couple to a treatment device. The capture device also includes an evacuation portion defining a lumen fluidly coupled to the treatment cavity. The evacuation portion is configured to removably and fluidly couple to an evacuation device configured to draw fresh air from outside of the treatment area through the plurality of venting apertures, across the treatment area, and out the lumen of the evacuation portion.
Foreign matter removal device
A foreign matter removal device removes foreign matter contained in a fluid. The fluid is caused to flow into the trap portion and is separated into an inner fluid flowing inside a separation portion and an outer fluid flowing outside the separation portion. First foreign matter contained in the outer fluid and having a higher specific gravity than the fluid is captured in a gap between an inner wall of the trap portion and the separation portion. Separation of second foreign matter contained in the inner fluid and having a lower specific gravity than the fluid is promoted by a gas-liquid separation portion, and the second foreign matter is discharged to outside, through a foreign-matter-discharging-means-connection portion provided in a ceiling on the vertically upper side at a center part of the trap portion, from foreign-matter-discharging means.
UNDER-SINK SOLIDS SEPARATING AND COMPOSTING DEVICES
Under-sink solids separating and compositing devices, systems, and methods. An under-sink solids separating device can include a solids separation housing having a fluid opening and a solids opening positioned along a length of the housing between the top and bottom end. The under-sink solids separating device is configured to separate fluid from solids such that fluid exits the housing via the fluid opening and solids exit the housing via the solids opening. A composting device can be coupled to the solids opening of the separating device or a garbage disposal and can include one or more housings or chambers for grinding or processing the solids, one or more heaters or fans for drying the solids, and optionally a mechanism for compacting the processed solids into pucks.
