MICRO-MACHINED FILTER FOR MAGNETIC PARTICLES
A method for filtering magnetic particles includes spinning a filter including a plurality of pores within a substrate. The method further includes applying, subsequent to spinning the filter, an external magnetic field to the filter. The method includes disposing a solution including a first particle and a second particle onto the filter. The first particle includes a magnetic particle of interest. The method further includes separating the first particle from the second particle by capturing the first particle within a pore of the plurality of pores within the substrate.
FILTER HAVING TRACER MATERIAL
An oil filter may include a housing. The housing may include an inlet, an outlet, and a filter element. The filter element may be located downstream of the inlet and upstream of the outlet. Additionally, the filter element may include a filtering material and a tracer material.
SOY BASED FILTRATION SYSTEM
The present application relates generally to filter media useful for manufacturing air filters for residential and commercial office's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), particularly to filters and filter media comprising soybean-based materials. The present invention provides an inexpensive, effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable media for manufacturing HVAC air filters for residential and commercial buildings.
Gravity-fed water purification system
A device for providing purified water from a silt-laden source water having an upper canister, a lower canister, and a filter mounted in the upper canister; wherein the upper canister and the lower canister are fluidly connected via the filter; wherein pre-filtered water is collected in the upper canister and purified water is collected in the lower canister; wherein a pre-filter is fluidly connected between the source water and the upper canister; wherein the pre-filter has a pre-filter canister having an inlet for source water and an outlet for pre-filtered water; wherein the pre-filter canister contains a fine depth filter and a felt filter.
FILTER ELEMENT AND FILTER MODULE COMPRISING SAME
The invention relates to a filter element comprising one or more fluid-pervious layers of a fluid-pervious sheet material having first and second surfaces in a substantially parallel arrangement, a fluid-impervious layer arranged in fluid tight contact with at least one of said first and second surfaces of said layer(s) of fluid-pervious sheet material to substantially fully cover the first and/or second surfaces thereof, one or more first and second edge portions, said first and second edge portions being arranged at a predefined distance and separated from one another by a predefined area of the fluid-pervious sheet material, a fluid flow path limited to and extending essentially parallel to the first and second surfaces from the first edge portion(s) to the second edge portion(s) within each of said layers of fluid-pervious sheet material, said first and second edge portions providing a fluid intake and a fluid drainage at the upstream and downstream ends of said fluid flow path, respectively. The invention further relates to filter modules comprising one or more of said filter elements.
Scent-releasing air filter assembly
A scent-releasing air filter assembly for freshening air includes a shell that defines an interior space. The shell is configured to couple in-line to an air circulation unit. A fibrous material is positioned in and substantially occupies the interior space. A reservoir, which is coupled to the shell and configured to contain a fluid, is in fluid communication with the interior space. The fibrous material is permeated by the fluid that flows from the reservoir. Each of a plurality of holes is positioned in a respective opposing side of the shell. The holes are configured to allow entry of air into the interior space from a first face of the shell and to permit exit of the air from a second face of the shell. The fibrous material is configured to remove solid particulates from the air concurrent with the release of a fragrance from the fluid to the air.
FILTER MEDIUM AND BAG FILTER
Disclosed herein are a filter medium and a bag filter for exhaust gas removal in which dropping off and scattering of a catalyst is suppressed during production and during use. Provided is a filter medium containing a fiber layer and a catalyst layer, the catalyst layer containing a catalyst and fibril fibers as main components. Also provided herein is a bag filter comprising the said filter medium, wherein the filter medium is cylindrical.
POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION CONTAINING A NEW CHARGE-STABILIZING AGENT FOR ELECTRET MELT BLOWN WEBS
A polypropylene composition (PC) comprising: a. from 95.0 to 99.99 wt.-%, of a polypropylene (PP), preferably a propylene homopolymer (HPP); and b. from 0.01 to 5.0 wt.-%, of a compound according to Formula (I), wherein each R is independently selected from C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkylene, C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkenylene and a single bond, each R is independently selected from H and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, each R is independently selected from H and C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 alkyl, wherein each alkylene, alkenylene and alkyl group may optionally be substituted by deuterium or fluorine, and the two substituents on the central benzene ring may be either positioned in an ortho, meta or para relationship; wherein the polypropylene composition (PC) has an MFR.sub.2 of from 400 to 5000 g/10 min and a melting temperature Tm of from 140 to 170 C.

IMPROVING CATALYTIC EFFICIENCY OF FLUE GAS FILTRATION THROUGH SALT FORMATION BY USING AT LEAST ONE OXIDIZING AGENT
Systems and methods for increasing removal efficiency of at least one filter medium. In some embodiments, at least one oxidizing agent is introduced into the flue gas stream, so as to react SO2 with the at least one oxidizing agent to form sulfur trioxide (SO3), sulfuric acid (H2SO4), or any combination thereof. Some of the embodiments further include introducing ammonia (NH3) and or dry sorbent into the flue gas stream, so as to react at least some of the sulfur trioxide (SO3), at least some of the sulfuric acid (H2SO4), or any combination thereof, with the ammonia (NH3) and form at least one salt.
Self-supporting pleatable fibrous web especially useful as oil filter media and oil filter comprising the same
Fibrous filtration media for hot oil filtration includes a nonwoven fibrous web containing synthetic fibers and at least about 15 wt. %, based on total weight of the fibrous web, of a binder component selected from thermoset binder resins and/or binder fibers. The synthetic fibers of the fibrous web will contain from about 2 wt. % to about 65 wt. %, for example between about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. %, based on total weight of fibers in the fibrous web, of thermoplastic synthetic microfibers having an average diameter of less than 5 ?l?l. The synthetic fibers are bonded together with the binder component to form the fibrous web which is capable of forming a self-supporting, pleated oil filter media which retains pleats upon contact with oil having a temperature in a range encountered in an internal combustion engine.
