A method for ultra-hydrophilic surface treatment of a polymer fiber substrate according to the present invention comprises the steps of: forming a thermosetting coating layer on the surface of a polymer substrate; forming a carboxylate group (—COO—) on the surface of the thermosetting coating layer; forming an amide bond (—CONH—) between the thermosetting coating layer and hydrogel monomers; and forming a hydrophilic polymer layer by crosslinking the hydrogel monomers.
Filter Having Multiple Denier Fibers
Filter media are described. In particular, a filter media includes an intake side, an exhaust side, and a plurality of fibers distributed throughout the filter media. The fibers have a plurality of deniers, and fibers disposed proximate the intake side have a first denier and fibers disposed proximate the exhaust side have a second denier. The first denier is larger than the second denier.
STRETCHED POROUS POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE MEMBRANE, AIR-PERMEABLE MEDIUM USING THE SAME, AND FILTER MEMBER USING THE SAME
A provided stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane has a node-fibril structure including a plurality of nodes and a fibril connecting the plurality of nodes. A ratio of an average length of the plurality of nodes in a thickness direction of the stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane to a thickness of the stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane is 10% or more. The above stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane is less likely to suffer breakage. In the above stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, assuming that there is a cuboid region having an upper surface and a lower surface respectively positioned at one membrane surface and the other membrane surface of the stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, the number of the nodes included in the region may be 4 or less per micrometer thickness, the upper surface and the lower surface each having dimensions of 280 μm×280 μm.
FORMULATIONS AND PROCESSES FOR TREATING WATER FROM IMPACTED SOURCES
This invention relates to an aqueous composition comprising, (a) an ion-exchange resin (IXR) comprising microporous beads having a particle size ranging from about 200 um to about 1000 um; (b) a water soluble surfactant having a molecular weight ranging from about 7,500 to about 15,000 Da; and (c) a buffer component; wherein the pH of the aqueous composition ranges from about 5 to about 8, and a process for isolating chemical contaminants using the aqueous composition.
Porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, gas-permeable membrane, and gas-permeable member
Provided is a porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane in which an absolute value of a difference in lightness between one principal surface and the other principal surface is 1.0 or more, where the lightness is lightness L* of CIE 1976 (L*, a*, b*) color space specified in JIS Z8781-4: 2013. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane may be colored black or gray. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane provided can have properties with a reduced coloring-induced deterioration.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL AIR PURIFICATION FILTER AND PURIFICATION DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A multi-functional air purification filter includes: a breathable support layer; a mesh layer provided on the breathable support layer; and a filter layer provided on the mesh layer, wherein at least a portion of the multi-functional air purification filter has a plurality of bends, and the mesh layer includes a coating layer of at least one of a photocatalytic material, an adsorption material, or a sterilizing material.
ANTI-PROPYLENE MASK AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
An anti-propylene mask and method for preparation thereof is provided; the anti-propylene mask includes a fiber cloth contact layer, an antistatic non-woven fabric layer and a fullerene/nano titanium dioxide spunbond layer which are arranged in sequence; the fullerene/nano titanium dioxide spunbond layer is made by spun-bonding the modified resin material into a fiber web; the raw materials of modified resin materials include matrix resin, carboxylated fullerene derivatives, nano titanium dioxide, a lubricant, and a coupling agent; the modified resin material is prepared by following method: the carboxylated fullerene derivative is mixed and reacted with the nano titanium dioxide to prepare the carboxylated fullerene derivative-modified nano titanium dioxide, which is then blended and extruded with the remaining components in the raw material, and thus prepared. The mask can prevent propylene from entering the human body through the human respiratory organs and has a good anti-propylene effect.
High efficiency synthetic filter media
The present invention is generally related to a high capacity, high efficiency nonwoven filtration media comprising a gradient pore structure. In particular, the filtration media can comprise thermoplastic synthetic microfibers, fibrillated fibers, staple fibers, and a binder. Furthermore, the filtration media may be produced without the use of glass fibers or microglass fibers. Consequently, the filtration media of the present invention does not cause the same issues as conventional filtration media that comprises glass fibers and/or microglass fibers. Moreover, the filtration media can be used to treat fuel, lubrication fluids, hydraulic fluids, and various other industrial gases.
METAL TREATMENTS FOR FIBER SUBSTRATES, PROCESSES FOR TREATING FIBER SUBSTRATES, AND FILTER MEDIA HAVING TREATED FIBER SUBSTRATES
Processes for increasing an affinity of a filter media to airborne viral particles. A fiber substrate comprising borosilicate is provided. The fiber substrate may comprise acidic functional groups. A metal salt solution is introduced to the fiber substrate to form a treated substrate. The metal salt solution includes divalent and/or trivalent metal cations. The pH of the metal salt solution is adjusted, and a divalent and/or trivalent metal cation is exchanged with a proton from the acidic functional groups. The metal may be present in an amount ranging from about 0.001 to about 3.0 wt. % of the treated fiber substrate. The treated fiber substrate is incorporated into a filter media before or after the deposition of the metal onto the fiber substrate.
