UTILIZATION OF NITROGEN OXIDES FROM AMBIENT AIR
Utilization of nitrogen oxides contained in the ambient air including a system and a method with which the nitrogen oxides can be utilized for the production of liquid or solid chemicals.
Air treatment systems and methods
An air treatment unit may include an air inlet to receive a flow of input air for treatment and a reaction reservoir configured to hold an aqueous air treatment solution. The air treatment unit may also include an air dispersing element flow connected with the air inlet, wherein the air dispersing element is configured to convert at least a portion of the flow of input air into a plurality of microbubbles for introduction into the aqueous air treatment solution, such that an amount of one or more target gas species contained within the plurality of microbubbles is reduced through reaction with the aqueous air treatment solution. The unit may include an air outlet configured to output treated air from the reaction reservoir.
Removal of moisture from hydrazine
The present invention generally relates to the field of gas and liquid phase desiccation. In particular, the present invention relates to methods for removing moisture (and hence oxygen precursors) from hydrazine, thereby providing a high purity source gas suitable for use in vapor deposition processes, such as but not limited to, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or an atomic layer deposition (ALD).
AIR CLEANER
In an air cleaner, a cassette is removably installed in an air cleaner housing. The cassette holds therein a filter formed by stacking a chemical filter and an air cleaner element. At the time of replacement or inspection of the filter, the cassette is pulled out of the air cleaner housing, and then the filter is removed from the cassette. Further, after completion of the replacement or inspection, the filter is placed in the cassette, and the cassette is installed in the air cleaner housing.
Anesthetic circuit having a hollow fiber membrane
An anesthetic circuit is provided for treating a patient. The anesthetic circuit includes a membrane having a plurality of hollow fibers. Also provided is a fluid separation apparatus connectable to an anesthetic circuit. In a further embodiment, a method is provided for anesthetic treatment of a patient.
Utilization of pollutants from internal combustion engines
Nitrogen oxides formed in combustion engines are recycled such that the nitrogen oxides can be utilized for producing liquid or solid chemicals. The nitrogen oxides are recycled by a method including an adsorber material adsorbing nitrogen oxides from an exhaust-gas stream of the combustion engine, removing the adsorber material laden with nitrogen oxides, desorbing the adsorbed nitrogen oxides from the adsorber material, and converting the nitrogen oxides desorbed from the adsorber material into liquid or solid nitrogen-containing compounds.
Processes for producing high-purity trifluoroiodomethane
The present disclosure provides a method for purifying trifluoroiodomethane. The method includes providing a process stream comprising trifluoroiodomethane, organic impurities, and acid impurities; reacting the process stream with a basic aqueous solution, the basic aqueous solution comprising water and at least one base selected from the group of an alkali metal carbonate and an alkali metal hydroxide; and separating at least some of the organic impurities from the process stream.
INERT GAS SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for providing inerting gas to a protected space is disclosed. The system includes an air separation module that includes an air inlet, a membrane with a permeability differential between oxygen and nitrogen, a nitrogen-enriched air outlet, and an oxygen-enriched air outlet. The system also includes an air flow path between an air source and the air separation module inlet, and an inerting gas flow path between the air separation module nitrogen-enriched air outlet and the protected space.
MAGNETIC ADSORBENTS AND METHODS OF THEIR USE FOR REMOVAL OF CONTAMINANTS
Provided are sorbents and associated methods and systems for removing mercury from process gases or fluid streams. The sorbents may include activated carbon and pyrite. The sorbents may optionally include one or more additives, such as a halide salt.
SPENT ACTIVATED CARBON AND INDUSTRIAL BY PRODUCT TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
Methods for treating an industrial byproduct, such as spent, granular, activated carbon, dredge spoils, or contaminated soils involve integrated steps to clean, concentrate, separate and/or otherwise collect hazardous and/or desired materials from such industrial byproducts. The cleaned, concentrated, separated, or collected materials may involve sufficient quantities to be useful to subsequent processors, raw materials, additives, and the like. Other treatment methods involve retaining the clean material stream at sufficient temperatures for sufficient time to separate and concentrate desired material for recovery therefrom, such as precious metals and rare earth elements.
