Aldehyde scavenger and method for removing aldehydes

To provide an aldehyde scavenger and a method for removing aldehydes by using the same, for quickly and continuously capturing aldehydes. An aldehyde scavenger comprising at least one O-substituted hydroxylamine or at least one chemically acceptable salt thereof, is used against an aldehyde generation source.

ORGANIC IODINE TRAPPING APPARATUS

There is provided an organic iodine trapping apparatus that can efficiently trap an organic iodine without using complicated or large equipment. An organic iodine trapping apparatus 30 is an apparatus that traps an organic iodine, including: a trapping vessel 1 through which gas containing an organic iodine is passed; an organic iodine remover 2 (Example: trihexyl (tetradecyl) phosphonium chloride, or the like) that is disposed in or injected into the trapping vessel 1 and decomposes the organic iodine; and a trapping material 3 that is disposed in or injected into the trapping vessel 1 and traps iodine ions generated by decomposition of the organic iodine, in which the trapping material 3 is a metal (Example: silver or the like) or a metal compound (Example: silver chloride, silver oxide, or the like).

Systems and methods of reducing selenium contamination in waste water
11091378 · 2021-08-17 · ·

A method of reducing selenium contamination in a waste water stream is described herein. The method includes channeling a flue gas stream through an absorber, contacting the flue gas stream with an aqueous alkaline-based slurry, such that any selenium byproduct in the flue gas stream forms a selenium compound within the aqueous alkaline-based slurry, controlling oxidation of the selenium compound in the aqueous alkaline-based slurry, and adding a precipitation agent to the aqueous alkaline-based slurry to cause the selenium compound within the aqueous alkaline-based slurry to precipitate.

System for the chemical decontamination of corrosive gases

The use of a composition including at least one acido-basic neutralising agent for decontaminating an atmosphere contaminated by a corrosive gas, the acido-basic neutralising agent having at least 2 pKa's and being characterised by: pKa 1≤pKa 2, pKa 1>2, pKa 2<12, 4<½ (pKa 1+pKa 2)<10 pKa 1, representing the smallest of the basic pKa's and pKa 2 representing the largest of the acidic pKa's. Also, a method for decontaminating an atmosphere contaminated by a corrosive gas comprising the spraying of the neutralising agent, and to a decontamination device.

A method of scavenging acid sulfide species from an industrial or environmental material, the method comprising contacting the material with: (a) propenal and/or maleimide and/or ethyl-2-chloroacetoacetate; and (b) a base.

HELMET

A helmet includes a helmet body and a gas detection and purification device. The gas detection and purification device in includes a body, a purification module, a gas-guiding unit, a gas detection module, and a power module. The gas detection module calculates the gas detection data obtained by the gas detection module so as to control the gas-guiding unit to start or stop operation based on the gas detection data. When the gas-guiding unit is in operation, the gas-guiding unit guides the gas into the body and to pass through the purification module for being filtered and purified to become a purified gas, and the gas-guiding unit discharges the purified gas out of the body to the nose portion, or the mouth portion, or both the nose portion and the mouth portion of the wearer for providing the wearer with the purified gas to breath.

Near-infrared regenerative intelligent fiber-based adsorptive material and preparation method and use thereof

The present invention discloses a near-infrared regenerative intelligent fiber-based adsorptive material and a preparation method and use thereof. The material is obtained by chemically grafting a stepwise dual-temperature stimuli-responsive polyethyleneimine onto a carboxylated cellulose nanofiber matrix to prepare a stepwise dual-temperature stimuli-responsive intelligent nanofiber, and combining the stepwise dual-temperature stimuli-responsive intelligent nanofiber with a photosensitizer having near-infrared stimuli-response to prepare a stepwise dual-temperature/near-infrared stimuli-responsive intelligent nanofiber, and then by using a crosslinking agent to directly crosslink and combine the stepwise dual-temperature/near-infrared stimuli-responsive intelligent nanofiber with a hyperbranched polyamine in one step. The material has a stepwise dual-temperature/near-infrared stimuli-response, high density of amino group (greater than 14 mmol/g), and nano cavities.
