MATERIALS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR CO2 CAPTURE AND CONVERSION
A method of capturing CO.sub.2 and converting the captured CO.sub.2 into useful byproducts includes providing a material including a material matrix holding an ionic liquid, exposing the material to a source of thermal energy to capture CO.sub.2 within the material, removing the material from exposure to the source of thermal energy, and washing the material with a solution to convert the captured CO.sub.2 and wash the converted, captured CO.sub.2 from the material as filtrate. Materials and systems for capturing CO.sub.2 and converting the captured CO.sub.2 into useful byproducts are also provided.
Methods for carbon dioxide capture
The subject invention provides systems and methods for capturing carbon dioxide in a cyclic process of mechano-chemical reactions. The subject invention also provides systems and methods for synthesizing siderite, by means of mechano-chemical reactions, using mill rotation. Siderite acts as an efficient reversible sorbent and can be decomposed, generating magnetite, carbon and/or metallic iron as well as pure carbon dioxide. Said systems and methods employing carbon dioxide capture/release reactions in the carbonation-calcination cycles are suitable for using in any iron, steel and non-steel industries to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
Method for liquid hydrocarbon desulfurization
A method of desulfurizing a liquid hydrocarbon comprises providing an initial processing unit and an end processing unit, the initial processing unit having an initial reactor assembly and an initial sorption system, the end processing unit having an end reactor assembly, a separator and an end sorption system. The method further comprises feeding a liquid hydrocarbon having a sulfur content into the initial reactor assembly, feeding an aqueous feed into the initial reactor assembly, shear mixing the liquid hydrocarbon and the aqueous feed within the initial reactor assembly, to, in turn, react the aqueous feed with the sulfur content of the liquid hydrocarbon, and directing the liquid hydrocarbon and aqueous feed to the initial sorption system. The method even further comprises feeding a sorbent into the initial sorption system and adsorbing at least some of the sulfur content that has reacted with the aqueous feed from the liquid hydrocarbon.
Vertical column apparatus for mass exchange processes
The present invention relates to a vertical column apparatus (1) for mass exchange processes in the chemical, oil or gas industry and in particular, for the production of iodine from formation water of oil and gas fields, comprising: a gas outlet (2) at the top and a liquid outlet (3) at the bottom of the column (1); a packed section (4) between the top and the bottom of the column (1), wherein the column (1) has a liquid inlet (5) above the packed section (4) and a gas inlet (6) below the packed section (4), wherein an upper portion (7) of the column (1) has a larger diameter (d.sub.u) compared to a diameter (d.sub.p) of the packed section (4).
Electrochemical apparatus for acid gas removal and hydrogen generation
An apparatus for removing an acid gas from a feed gas stream includes an absorber and an electrochemical regenerator. The absorber is adapted for separating the acid gas from the feed gas feed stream using a lean carbon capture solvent. The electrochemical regenerator is connected to the absorber and adapted for (a) regenerating the carbon capture solvent and (b) generating hydrogen gas. A method for removing acid gas from a feed gas stream includes steps of separating, delivering, releasing, generating and returning.
PRODUCTION DEVICE AND PRODUCTION METHOD OF ELECTRONIC GRADE HYDROFLUORIC ACID
Disclosed is a production device and production method of electronic grade hydrofluoric acid. The method includes vaporizing the raw material industrial anhydrous hydrogen fluoride by an evaporator, transporting the vaporized hydrogen fluoride to a purification tower, obtaining a high purity hydrogen fluoride gas through rectification, transporting the high purity hydrogen fluoride gas to an absorption tower for absorption by a certain concentration of hydrofluoric acid in the liquid phase, obtaining the crude electronic grade hydrofluoric acid, and obtaining the electronic grade hydrofluoric acid product through ultrapure filtration. The disclosure overcomes the technical problems of small yield and low purity of the prior art. The production process meets the requirements of environmental protection. The disclosure is suitable for industrialized large-scale production.
Extraction of target materials using CZTS sorbent
Various embodiments disclosed relate to extraction of target materials using a CZTS sorbent. A method of extracting a target material from a medium includes contacting a copper zinc tin sulfur (CZTS) sorbent with the target material in the medium including the target material to form a used CZTS sorbent that includes the target material.
Method for Purifying a Gaseous, Liquid or Aerosol Composition Containing at Least One Polluant
The invention relates to a method for purifying a gaseous, liquid or aerosol composition, containing at least one pollutant consisting of a volatile inorganic compound (VIC), a siloxane and/or a functional volatile organic compound (Pollution Trap Concept or P.T.C. System).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PASSIVE COLLECTION OF ATMOSPHERIC CARBON DIOXIDE
A system and method for passive collection of atmospheric carbon dioxide is disclosed. The system includes a harvest chamber having a first opening and a sorbent regeneration system. The system also includes a capture body coupled to and movable by a support structure. The capture body includes a sorbent material and is movable by the support structure to be in a collection configuration wherein at least a portion of the capture body is in contact with a natural airflow outside the harvest chamber such that atmospheric carbon dioxide is captured by the sorbent material, and a release configuration wherein at least a portion of the capture body holding captured carbon dioxide is operated upon by the regeneration system inside the harvest chamber such that captured carbon dioxide is released to form an enriched gas.
