The invention is a system and method for the generation of usable water from atmospheric water vapor for dispersal through water sprinklers.
PROCESS FOR PURIFYING CRUDE SYNTHESIS GAS TO PRODUCE AN ACID GAS AND ACID GAS SEPARATOR
The invention relates to a gas scrubbing process for purifying crude synthesis gas with methanol as a physical absorption medium, wherein an acid gas comprising at least hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) is produced. The acid gas is produced in a hot regenerator arranged downstream of an absorption apparatus and subsequently separated from gaseous methanol in an acid gas separator by cooling and condensation. The acid gas separator has a condensation region and an absorption region, wherein both regions are separated from one another by a gas-permeable tray. This has the result that impurities such as hydrogen cyanide and/or ammonia outgassing from a first acid gas substream are not reabsorbed in the condensation region of the acid gas separator, thus avoiding an accumulation of impurities in the hot regenerator or other parts of the gas scrubbing plant. The invention further relates to an acid gas separator and to the use of the acid gas separator according to the invention in a process according to the invention.
CONTROL OF AQUEOUS ARSENIC, SELENIUM, MERCURY OR OTHER METALS FROM FLUE GAS
The invention pertains to methods of reducing dissolved elements such as arsenic, selenium and mercury in aqueous solutions using, for example, various barium compounds to partition said elements to a solid phase. Such methods are particularly useful for reducing such elements at various points in coal and oil-fired power plants prior to final waste water treatment.
CARBON DIOXIDE RECOVERY
Carbon dioxide is separated from flue gas by scrubbing the gas with an aqueous solution of an amine and salt, and the CO.sub.2 is therefore released from the solution by heating. The scrubbing step is performed with a co-current stream of an aqueous solution of the amine and a salt.
Desulfurization absorption tower
A desulfurization absorption tower, a method for setting up the same and a method for operating the same. The tower may include an internal anti-corrosion layer that may be used for contacting the flue gas and the desulfurization absorption liquid, may define the tower chamber, and may include stainless steel plate whose thickness is 1.0 mm to 6.0 mm. The tower body may include an external supporting layer that may be used for supporting the anti-corrosion layer and may include carbon steel. The supporting layer and the anti-corrosion layer may be designed to jointly bear a load, wherein the supporting layer may be designed to bear a large part of the load, and the anti-corrosion layer may be designed to bear a small part of the load.
SEPARATION METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR OXIDATIVE COUPLING OF METHANE
The present disclosure provides a method for generating higher hydrocarbon(s) from a stream comprising compounds with two or more carbon atoms (C.sub.2+), comprising introducing methane and an oxidant (e.g., O.sub.2) into an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reactor. The OCM reactor reacts the methane with the oxidant to generate a first product stream comprising the C.sub.2+ compounds. The first product stream can then be directed to a separations unit that recovers at least a portion of the C.sub.2+ compounds from the first product stream to yield a second product stream comprising the at least the portion of the C.sub.2+ compounds.
REGENERATION SYSTEM FOR CARBON-RICH AMINE SOLUTIONS AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
The invention relates to a regeneration system for a carbon-rich amine solution produced in carbon dioxide capture from a mixed gas and a method for using the same. This regeneration system is composed of a bipolar membrane electrodialysis apparatus and a carbon dioxide removal apparatus, wherein the bipolar membrane electrodialysis apparatus is composed of a bipolar membrane electrodialysis membrane stack fixed between an anode plate and a cathode plate, the carbon dioxide removal apparatus is composed of one or more hollow fiber membrane contactors, the inlet of the carbon dioxide removal apparatus is fluidly connected with the outlet of the acid chamber of the bipolar membrane electrodialysis apparatus, the outlet of the carbon dioxide removal apparatus is fluidly connected with the acid solution storage tank, and carbon dioxide gas removed by the carbon dioxide removal apparatus is collected in a carbon dioxide storage tank. In the invention, by treating a carbon-rich amine solution having heat stable salts with a combined apparatus of bipolar membrane electrodialysis and carbon dioxide removal, individual operation for conventional heat stripping and organic amine regeneration is avoided, the energy consumption of carbon capture is reduced, the process flow is simplified, and the overall net capture efficiency of carbon dioxide is improved.
