The technology disclosed herein relates to a filter assembly. The filter assembly has a double-sided adhesive layer having a first side and a second side and defining a filter opening. A first membrane extends over the filter opening and is directly coupled to the first side of the double-sided adhesive layer about the filter opening. An adsorbent element is directly coupled to the first membrane, where the adsorbent element and the first membrane are coextensive. A second membrane encapsulates the first membrane and the adsorbent element. The second membrane is directly coupled to the first side of the double-sided adhesive layer around the first membrane and adsorbent element.

Cementitious material and production method thereof

The present disclosure provides a cementitious material and production method thereof. The method comprises steps of: (1) dry desulfurization and denitrification of a flue gas with a flue gas absorbent to give a by-product, wherein the flue gas absorbent comprises 10-23 parts by weight of a nano-sized metal oxide, 10-23 parts by weight of a micro-sized metal oxide, and 40-60 parts by weight of magnesium oxide, the nano-sized metal oxide being selected from one or more of the group consisting of SiO2, CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, CuO, V2O5 and MnO2, and the micro-sized metal oxide being selected from one or more of the group consisting of SiO2, CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, CuO, V2O5 and MnO2; and (2) uniformly mixing the by-product with magnesium oxide, an industrial solid waste and an additive to give the cementitious material.

METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF FLUE GAS STREAMS USING SORBENT COMPOSITIONS WITH REDUCED AUTO-IGNITION PROPERTIES

An activated carbon sorbent composition comprising activated carbon and a passivation agent, wherein the activated carbon sorbent composition exhibits reduced self-heating or auto-ignition properties as compared to the activated carbon. The activated carbon sorbent composition may be utilized to sequester contaminants such as mercury from a flue gas stream. The passivation agent includes a sulfur species, and may be a sulfur oxide compound, a sulfide compound, or an organic sulfur compound. Methods for the manufacture of the activated carbon sorbent composition and for the sequestration of contaminants in a flue gas stream using the composition are also disclosed.

Single-step synthesis of chemisorption fiber sorbents (CHEFS) for the capture of CO.SUB.2 .and removal of water contaminants

One or more embodiments relates to method for generating CHEFS having the steps of generating the CHEFS from a dope. One or more embodiments relates to a method for generating CHEFS having amine functional groups having the steps of generating a dope containing a BIAS with amine groups, at least one polymer, and at least one solvent; and forming CHEFS from the dope, wherein the generated CHEFS have no more than 30% amine loss compared to the BIAS.

MATERIALS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR SILOXANE CONTAMINANT REMOVAL

Adsorbent materials are disclosed, along with filter elements containing the adsorbent materials methods of using adsorbents to remove siloxane contaminants from a gas stream. The method includes providing an adsorbent material that has been washed with an acid and passing a gas through the adsorbent material so as to reduce siloxane levels in the gas. A filter element for reducing siloxane levels in a gas includes a first adsorbent material, the first adsorbent material comprising an acid-washed adsorbent; and a second adsorbent material, the second adsorbent material comprising an acid-impregnated adsorbent.

ACTIVATED CARBON FIBER SHEET FOR MOTOR VEHICLE CANISTER

An object is to provide an adsorbent using activated carbon fiber, the adsorbent being suitable for motor vehicle canisters and enabling reduction in pressure loss.

An activated carbon fiber sheet for a motor vehicle canister fulfils the following conditions (1) to (4). (1) The sheet has a specific surface area ranging from 1100 to 2300 m.sup.2/g. (2) The sheet has a density ranging from 0.010 to 0.200 g/cm.sup.3 or less. (3) The sheet has a thickness ranging from 0.1 to 100.00 mm. (4) The sheet has a fiber size of 13.0 μm or larger.

Device and process for the direct carbon dioxide capture from air

The present invention is based on the use of surface adsorption to capture CO.sub.2 molecules from air, without requiring the need for bulk absorption within the bulk of the sorbent. Since surface adsorption is a much faster process than bulk absorption, the present invention offers a greatly increased CO.sub.2 capture rate, as well as a greatly improved energy efficiency, over conventional systems. The invention involves the use of a molecular monolayer of CO.sub.2 sorbent, a process and a system for capturing CO.sub.2 from air employing such a molecular monolayer of CO.sub.2 sorbent.

MICROWAVE ENHANCED AIR DISINFECTION SYSTEM

A microwave enhanced air disinfection (MEAD) device includes a housing and a microwave generator coupled to the housing. The microwave generator is configured to generate microwave energy. The MEAD device further includes a multi-component filter disposed in the housing. The multi-component filter is configured to collect contaminants from airflow. At least a portion of the contaminants from the airflow is to be destroyed at least one of directly or indirectly via the microwave energy.
