Sorbent devices
Sorbent material sheets provide for enhanced performance in vapor adsorbing applications over conventional canisters and other emissions control equipment. The sorbent material sheets can be formed as part of a small, lightweight canister, or can be integrated into a fuel tank. The sorbent material sheets can also be used as part of an onboard refueling vapor recovery system to control volatile organic compound emissions from fuel tanks of gasoline vehicles, such as automobiles.

The present disclosure relates a method for removing by-products from a gas comprising such by-products, the by-products comprising fluoronitrile compounds and/or fluorocarbon compounds. This method includes contacting the gas with a solid adsorbent phase that comprises a molecular sieve and further comprises at least one transition metal oxide. The present disclosure also relates to a device for removing fluorinated by-products from a gas comprising such fluorinated by-products and to the use of at least one transition metal oxide in a solid adsorbent phase including a molecular sieve for removing by-products from a gas comprising such by-products, the by-products comprising fluoronitrile compounds and/or fluorocarbon compounds.
Material, filter, and device for removing contaminant
A material for removing a contaminant, the material including an adsorption material for adsorption of a contaminant and a decomposition material for decomposition of a contaminant, wherein the adsorption material and the decomposition material are complexed with each other, and a contaminant decomposition onset temperature of the decomposition material is equal to or lower than a contaminant desorption onset temperature of the adsorption material.
EXHAUST GAS EMISSIONS ABATEMENT SYSTEM
A system for removing methane oxidation catalyst (MOC) poisons from an exhaust gas including a methane abatement unit that may receive the exhaust gas having methane (CH.sub.4)and the MOC poisons. The methane abatement unit includes a guard bed that may remove the MOC poisons from the exhaust gas and may generate an intermediate exhaust gas having the CH.sub.4 and devoid of the MOC poisons. The guard bed includes a MOC poisons capturing component having a first transition metal oxide, an aluminum oxide (Al.sub.2O.sub.3) support material, and a dolomite-derived support material. The methane abatement unit also includes a MOC bed fluidly coupled to and positioned downstream from the guard bed. The MOC bed includes a MOC and may remove CH.sub.4 from the intermediate exhaust gas to generate a treated exhaust gas having less than approximately 200 parts per million volume (ppmv) CH.sub.4.
POROUS CERAMICS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, FILTRATION, AND MEMBRANE APPLICATIONS
An ink for three dimensional printing a ceramic material includes metal oxide nanoparticles and a polymer resin, where a concentration of the metal oxide nanoparticles is at least about 50 wt % of a total mass of the ink. A method of forming a porous ceramic material includes obtaining an ink, where the ink comprises a mixture of metal oxide nanoparticles and a polymer, forming a body from the ink, curing the formed body, heating the formed body for removing the polymer and for forming a porous ceramic material from the metal oxide nanoparticles. The forming the body includes an additive manufacturing process with the ink.
Sorbent devices
Sorbent material sheets are wound around a center core of material that includes additional sorbent. This configuration further increases the packaging efficiency and performance of the sorbent material sheets as part of an overall housing or apparatus. In some embodiments, the sorbent material sheets are arranged in a stacked configuration. Configurations of the sorbent material sheets as part of a canister are also described.
COATING COMPOSTITIONS AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME
Coating compositions and methods for using the same are disclosed. The coating compositions can include an aminosilica adsorbent. The coating compositions can adsorb CO.sub.2.
METHOD FOR CAPTURE OF CARBON DIOXIDE FROM AMBIENT AIR AND CORRESPONDING ADSORBER STRUCTURES WITH A PLURALITY OF PARALLEL SURFACES
A DAC method as well as a unit containing an adsorber structure having an array of adsorber elements with a support layer and on both sides thereof a sorbent layer (1, 2), wherein the adsorber elements are parallel and spaced apart forming parallel fluid passages for flow-through of ambient atmospheric air and steam. The method involves the following sequential and repeating steps: (a) adsorption by flow-through; (b) isolating the sorbent; (c) injecting a stream of saturated steam through the parallel fluid passages and inducing an increase of the temperature; (d) extracting desorbed carbon dioxide from the unit and separating it from steam; (e) bringing the sorbent material to ambient temperature conditions wherein in step (a) the speed of the air is in the range of 2-8 m/s, and wherein at least in step (d) the speed of the steam is at least 0.2 m/s.
PARALLEL PASSAGE CONTACTOR HAVING ACTIVE LAYERS
The present technology relates generally to parallel passage contactors having active layers and methods for its use. Particularly, the present technology relates to parallel passage contactors having active layers with sorbents and/or catalysts and methods of use in sorptive gas separation and/or catalytic reactions.
Sorbent system for removing ammonia and organic compounds from a gaseous environment
A first process and sorbent for removing ammonia from a gaseous environment, the sorbent comprised of graphene oxide having supported thereon at least one compound selected from metal salts, metal oxides and acids, each of which is capable of adsorbing ammonia. A second process and sorbent system for removing ammonia and a volatile organic compound from a gaseous environment; the sorbent system comprised of two graphene-based materials: (a) the aforementioned graphene oxide, and (b) a nitrogen and oxygen-functionalized graphene.
