HOT AIR CIRCULATING FOOD WASTE DRYER
The present invention relates to a food waste dryer comprising: a main body in which a drying space is formed so that a portion thereof is open to the outside; a front door for closing the open portion of the main body; a drying basket which is disposed in the drying space of the main body and in which food is accommodated; an air circulation unit which includes a heater capable of heating the air of the drying space, and which suctions the air inside the drying space, and then blows, at the food waste, the air heated by the heater so as dry the food waste; a circulation pipe capable of discharging, to the outside through an exhaust pipe, the air that includes steam vaporized during a food waste drying process, and recirculating, to the drying space through a blowing pipe, the air heated by the heater; and a deodorizing device mounted on the outside of the main body so as to adsorb odor particles from the air discharged to the outside through the circulation pipe, thereby enabling the air to be deodorized, wherein the deodorizing device includes a deodorant comprising activated carbon and zeolite. According to the present invention, a fixed amount of steam, which is generated by vaporization and evaporation during the food waste drying process, is maintained, and the adsorption and deodorization performance of the odor particles can be improved.
METHOD FOR MAKING AN AMINATED SILICEOUS ADSORBENT
An aminated siliceous adsorbent, which is the reaction product of dried acidified rice husk ash having disordered mesopores and an amino silane, wherein amine functional groups are present on an external surface and within the mesopores of the dried acidified rice husk ash, and wherein the aminated siliceous adsorbent has a carbon content of 24 to 30 wt. %, based on a total weight of the aminated siliceous adsorbent. A method of making the aminated siliceous adsorbent and a method of capturing CO.sub.2 from a gas mixture with the aminated siliceous adsorbent.
Characteristics of tunable adsorbents for rate selective separation of nitrogen from methane
The present invention generally relates to a pressure swing adsorption process for separating an adsorbate impurity from a feed stream comprising product gas, said process comprising feeding the feed stream to an adsorbent bed at a pressure of from about 60 psig to 2000 psig, wherein said adsorbent bed comprises adsorbent having: An isosteric heat of adsorption of from about 5 kJ/mol to about 30 kJ/mol, as determined by the LRC method, for the adsorbate, and an equivalent 65 kJ/mol or less isosteric heat of adsorption for the product,
wherein the adsorbent has a rate of adsorption for the adsorbate impurity that is at least 10 times greater than the rate of adsorption for the product gas as determined by the TGA method and recovering said product gas with a reduced a level of said adsorbate impurity. The invention also related to an adsorbent useful in PSA separations, particularly separating N.sub.2 from methane, CO.sub.2 from methane O.sub.2 from N.sub.2 and the like.

Process for purifying hydrogen gas for use in fuel cells
The invention generally relates to a process for purifying a hydrogen gas for use in a fuel cell. The process involves taking a hydrogen feed stream from a high-pressure tank and passing it through a purifier comprising an adsorbent to provide a purified hydrogen stream which is sent to a fuel cell. A particular adsorbent which can be used is a metal-organic framework composition. The adsorbent can be housed in a device such as a canister or cartridge having an inlet and outlet port.
Solid amine combined carbon dioxide separation process
A swing bed absorption apparatus including a first absorption bed including a first plurality of solid amine based sorbent beads, a second absorption bed including a second plurality of solid amine based sorbent beads, and a solvent pump configured to alternately pump a liquid solvent through the first absorption bed and the second absorption bed. The liquid solvent is configured to alternately desorb the carbon dioxide from the first plurality of solid amine based sorbent beads and the second plurality of solid amine based sorbent beads.
PREPARATION OF NEW ALDEHYDE AND/OR KETONE TRAPS AND FILTERS
A method for preparing a nanoporous silica sol-gel matrix containing at least one amine reactant selected from hydroxylamine, methylhydroxylamine, tertbutylhydroxylamine, methoxyamine, tetraethylenepentamine, dicarboxylic acid dihydrazides, particularly adipic acid dihydrazide, and the salts thereof, said method including the following steps: a) synthesising a gel from tetramethoxysilane or from a mixture of tetramethoxysilane and another organosilicon precursor selected from among phenyltrimethoxysilane, phenyltriethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltrimethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltriethoxysilane, a chloroalkylmethoxysilane, a chloroalkylethoxysilane, an alkyltrimethoxysilane, an alkyltriethoxysilane, an aminopropyltriethoxysilane and the mixtures thereof, the synthesis being performed in an aqueous medium at a temperature ranging from 10 to 70° C. in the presence of at least one amine reactant selected from among hydroxylamine, methylhydroxylamine, tertbutylhydroxylamine, methoxyamine, dicarboxylic acid dihydrazides, particularly adipic acid dihydrazide, and the salts thereof; b) drying the gel obtained during step a) so as to obtain a sol-gel matrix containing at least one amine reactant.

PASSIVE CO2 CAPTURE DEVICE WITH A HELICAL SORBENT STRUCTURE
A device for passive collection of atmospheric carbon dioxide is disclosed, including a vessel having an opening and a sorbent regeneration system. The device also includes a helical sorbent structure rotatably coupled to the vessel. The sorbent structure has a helical framework coupled to a sorbent material. The sorbent structure is movable between collection and release configurations. The collection configuration includes the sorbent structure extending upward from the vessel to expose the sorbent structure to an airflow and allow the sorbent material to capture atmospheric CO.sub.2. The sorbent structure is free to rotate on an axis. The sorbent material is constrained to a helix rotating about and propagating along the axis. The release configuration includes a lid covering the opening, and the sorbent material being sufficiently enclosed inside the vessel that the regeneration system may operate to release captured CO.sub.2 from the sorbent material and form an enriched gas.
