DIESEL OXIDATION CATALYST

An oxidation catalyst composite, methods, and systems for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions from a diesel engine are described. More particularly, described is an oxidation catalyst composite including a first oxidation component comprising a first refractory metal oxide support, palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt); a NO.sub.x storage component comprising one or more of alumina, silica, titania, ceria, or manganese; and a second oxidation component comprising a second refractory metal oxide, a zeolite, and Pt. The oxidation catalyst composite is sulfur tolerant, adsorbs NO.sub.x and thermally releases the stored NO.sub.x at temperature less than 350 C.

An exhaust system for a diesel engine comprises an oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from the diesel engine and an emissions control device, wherein the oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat zone for oxidizing carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs), wherein the first washcoat zone comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM), which is a combination of platinum and palladium, a first support material and a hydrocarbon adsorbent material, which is a zeolite, and wherein the first washcoat zone does not comprise rhodium and is substantially free of manganese or an oxide thereof; a second washcoat zone for oxidizing nitric oxide (NO), wherein the second washcoat zone comprises platinum (Pt) and manganese (Mn) disposed or supported on a second support material, wherein the second support material comprises a refractory metal oxide, wherein the refractory metal oxide is silica-alumina or an alumina doped with silica in a total amount of 0.5 to 45% by weight of the alumina, and wherein the second washcoat zone does not comprise a hydrocarbon adsorbent material, which is a zeolite; and a substrate having and inlet end and an outlet end, and wherein the second washcoat zone is disposed at an outlet end of the substrate, and the first washcoat zone disposed at an inlet end of the substrate; and wherein the emissions control device is a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst, a selective catalytic reduction filter catalyst, a diesel particulate filter (DPF), or a catalyzed soot filter (CSF).

Provided herein is an exhaust system comprising a diesel particulate filter coated with a selective catalytic reduction (SDPF) wherein the SCR is coated with a Cu/LTA catalyst comprising a LTA zeolite that includes copper ions and the SCR is coated on a high pore diesel particulate matter filter, wherein a ratio of copper and aluminum is from about 0.14 to about 0.48, and wherein the Si/Al ratio of the LTA zeolite is from about 8 to about 100.

A hydrocarbon burner for an enclosed environment includes a heat exchanger having a first heat exchanger inlet connected to an inlet of the hydrocarbon burner and a first heat exchanger outlet connected to a heater, and a second heat exchanger inlet connected to a reactor outlet and a second heat exchanger outlet connected to an outlet of the hydrocarbon burner. A reactor includes a reactor inlet, the reactor outlet, and a catalyst mixture disposed in a reactor bed between the reactor inlet and the reactor outlet. The heater connects the first heat exchanger outlet to the reactor inlet. The reactor is a low temperature reactor configured to convert at least one hydrocarbon to at least one of H2O and CO2.

The present disclosure is directed to SCR catalysts, methods for their manufacture, and methods of treating emissions in an exhaust stream with them. The SCR catalysts are produced from pillaring and ion exchanging synthetic phyllosilicates, particularly hydrothermally synthesized phyllosilicates.

MOISTURE-RESISTANT CATALYST FOR AIR POLLUTION REMEDIATION AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

The moisture-resistant catalyst for air pollution remediation is a catalyst with moisture-resistant properties, and which is used for removing nitrogen compound pollutants, such as ammonia (NH.sub.3), from air. The moisture-resistant catalyst for air pollution remediation includes at least one metal oxide catalyst, at least one inorganic oxide support for supporting the at least one metal oxide catalyst, and a porous framework for immobilizing the at least one metal oxide catalyst and the at least one inorganic oxide support, where the porous framework is moisture-resistant. As non-limiting examples, the at least one metal oxide catalyst may be supported on the at least one inorganic oxide support by precipitation, impregnation, dry milling, ion-exchange or combinations thereof. The at least one metal oxide catalyst supported on the at least one inorganic oxide support may be physically embedded in the porous framework.
