The present invention further relates to a catalyst article and to a compressed natural gas combustion and exhaust system.
NOVEL ZEOLITE
An object of the present invention is to provide an AFX zeolite having a novel structure. An AFX zeolite having a lattice spacing d of a (004) plane being not less than 4.84 Å and not greater than 5.00 Å, and a molar ratio of silica to alumina being not less than 10 and not higher than 32. Such an AFX zeolite can be produced by a production method comprising a crystallization step of crystallizing a composition at a temperature of not lower than 160° C.; the composition containing a silicon source, an aluminum source, a 1,3-di(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cation, and an alkali metal; a molar ratio of hydroxide ions to silica being less than 0.25 or a molar ratio of silica to alumina being not higher than 27; and a molar ratio of the 1,3-di(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cation to silica being less than 0.20.
HIGH-SILICA AFX FRAMEWORK TYPE ZEOLITES
An AFX framework type zeolite having a SiO.sub.2/Al.sub.2O.sub.3 molar ratio of greater than 50 is disclosed. The high-silica AFX framework type zeolite is synthesized from a reaction mixture having high silica and low hydroxide concentrations in the presence of an organic structure directing agent comprising 1,3-bis(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cations.
Enhanced soot oxidation on particulate filter using ceria-based catalyst and zone coating strategy
An improved SCRoF (selective catalytic reduction on filter) device for treating exhaust from an internal combustion engine. The filter has numerous entry and exit channels. Exhaust enters the entry channels and flows through side walls into the exit channels. Relative to the exhaust flow path, these side walls are coated on the downstream side with a ceria-based catalyst and on the upstream side with a Cu-zeolite catalyst. This allows the filter to optimally achieve both particulate matter oxidation and NOx reduction, respectively.
ALDEHYDE DECOMPOSITION CATALYST, EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT APPARATUS, AND EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT METHOD
One object is to provide a useful aldehyde decomposition catalyst, and an exhaust gas treatment apparatus and an exhaust gas treatment method using the aldehyde decomposition catalyst that achieve low cost and sufficient aldehyde decomposition performance with a small amount of the catalyst. An aldehyde decomposition catalyst of the present invention is made of a zeolite in a cation form NH.sub.4 having a structure of CHA or MOR and carrying Cu.
METHOD AND EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR TREATING NOX IN EXHAUST GAS FROM STATIONARY EMISSION SOURCES
A method of selectively catalysing the reduction of oxides of nitrogen (NO.sub.x) including nitrogen monoxide in an exhaust gas of a stationary source of NO.sub.x emissions also containing oxides of sulfur (SO.sub.x) comprising the steps of passively oxidising nitrogen monoxide to nitrogen dioxide (NO.sub.2) over an oxidation catalyst comprising a platinum group metal so that a NO.sub.2/NO.sub.x content is from 40-60%; introducing a nitrogenous reductant into the exhaust gas; and contacting exhaust gas having the 40-60% NO.sub.2/NO.sub.x content and containing the nitrogenous reductant with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst comprising an aluminosilicate zeolite promoted with copper.
Method for preparing molecular sieve SCR catalyst, and catalyst prepared therethrough
A method for preparing a molecular sieve SCR (selective catalytic reduction) catalyst and a prepared catalyst therethrough. In the method, several molecular sieves are mixed and modified by transition metal or rare-earth metal via ion exchange, then loaded Fe by equivalent-volume impregnation, and loaded Cu by one or more liquid ion exchange. This present invention, combined with several techniques, such as modification of stable molecular sieve by transition and rare-earth metal, Fe loading by equivalent-volume impregnation and Cu loading by one or more liquid ion exchange, and after through stable and effective modification and loading control, the obtained catalyst material is coated on a carrier substrate via size mixing and coating process to be prepared into an integral catalyst.
ZEOLITIC MATERIALS HAVING ENCAPSULATED BIMETALLIC CLUSTERS
Zeolites having highly dispersed bimetallic clusters, uniformly distributed in size and composition, encapsulated therein are disclosed. Metal encapsulation and alloying is conferred by introducing ligated metal cation precursors into zeolite synthesis gels, which are subsequently crystallized hydrothermally to form zeolites with metal cations occluded in the pores. The ligated cations are anchored to the zeolite framework via siloxane bridges which enforces their uniform dispersion throughout the zeolite crystals. Treatment of the crystallized zeolites in O.sub.2 and then H.sub.2 forms bimetallic clusters, which remain narrowly distributed in size and composition.
