ENHANCED PHOTO-CATALYTIC CELLS
According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for ionizing air includes a first reflector and a first target. The first reflector receives direct UV energy (from a UV emitter) and reflects it to form reflected UV energy. The first target has an inner face that also receives direct UV energy (from the UV emitter). The first target also has an outer face that receives the reflected UV energy from the first reflector. The faces of the first target are coated with a photo-catalytic coating. The first target may also have passages between the faces.
FACE MASK
A face mask containing a network of conductive activated carbon meso-fibers crosslinked with a crosslinking agent bonded to a insulative polymeric micro-fiber based purification element. The purification element is captured between two ridged porous elements and contacted to the face by a biocompatible flexible polymeric seal. Optionally the front cover attaches to a main frame of the mask through a system of sliding locks that are coupled with bayonet latch mechanisms. The face mask attaches to the head of a wearer through a harness that couples with the sliding locks or alternatively with a biocompatible adhesive.

The present invention provides a photocatalytic filter module and an air purifier including a base frame in which at least one side is open, a plurality of support frames arranged to traverse the base frame, a plurality of light emitting units arranged on the support frame, and filter units installed in the base frame and disposed to be spaced apart from the light emitting units.
Method for operating membrane separation device with halt process
A method for operating a membrane separation device includes (a) setting a flow amount M(t) of permeated water and extracting the permeated water from the membrane separation device by the set flow amount M(t), and (b) temporarily stopping the extracting the permeated water, when a water level of a first water tank in which the membrane separation device is immersed, a water level of a second water tank in communication with the first tank, or a water level of a third water tank receiving overflowing water from the first water tank becomes lower than a predetermined halt water level. M(t), which is the flow amount of the permeated water during a time period t, satisfies a equation M(t)=KQ(t−1), where K is a gain (K>1), and Q(t−1) is an amount of inflow of the water-to-be-treated during a time period t−1 immediately prior to the time period t.
ANTIMICROBIAL SYSTEMS FOR PERSONAL SPACES
An air purification system, includes a UVC light source arranged within an internal space of a purification chamber and adapted to irradiate the internal space with UVC, an airflow system arranged to introduce environmental air from outside of the air purification system into the internal space of the purification chamber and expel purified air from the purification chamber back outside of the air purification system, and a light blocking system arranged to block a substantial amount of the irradiated UVC from emitting outside of the air purification system, the light blocking system comprising a high-air-flow open structure mounted in the airflow system of the purification chamber, wherein the open structure comprises a front surface, rear surface and a thickness, wherein the front and rear surfaces have a plurality of open areas connected through the thickness, and wherein at least one of the plurality of open areas is of a size with respect to the thickness to block light from traversing the thickness when an angle of incidence is less than approximately 10 degrees.
Method for Preparing Antibacterial and Dust-removal Membrane
This invention discloses a method for preparing an antibacterial and dust-removal membrane. The method comprises the following steps: depositing a layer of nano-ZnO on the immersed membrane surface as the seed crystal with the atomic layer deposition instrument (ALD instrument); vertically immersing the membrane covered with nano-ZnO layer in a hydrothermal reactor filled with crystal growth solution, heating it for a period of time, taking the membrane out and cooling it to the room temperate, and removing it from the substrate; finally, heating this membrane in a drier, and purging it with nitrogen to remove the paraffin within the membrane pore to obtain the porous membrane with nano-ZnO arrays growing on the surface.
