20220111329 · 2022-04-14 ·

A system and method for simultaneously removing water and acid gases from methane in a single process without requiring dehydration prior to acid gas removal. A feed stream comprising these components and little or no hydrocarbons heavier than methane is separated in a series of separators, including an absorber column using methanol as an absorber. A treated methane stream comprising at least 90%, more preferably at least 95%, most preferably at least 99%, of the methane from the feed stream and an acid gas waste stream comprising less than 10%, more preferably less than 5%, most preferably less than 1%, of the methane from the feed stream are produced. Using methanol as a physical solvent allows removal of water and acids gases in a single step using substantially less energy than conventional separation methods. The system and method are particularly useful in treating landfill gas feed streams.

Multiple risers are provided to perform different steps in a biogas water wash process. The risers may include absorption risers, flashing risers, and stripping risers. In each riser, the inlets to provide fluids to the riser and outlets to remove fluids from the risers are provided at one end of the riser. Each riser may then be located substantially below grade such that the end with the inlets and outlets is accessible at or just above the ground level. The risers within each step of the water wash process may be connected in series, parallel, or a combination thereof. The risers may also be constructed of a polyethylene material to reduce cost and weight of the water wash system.

A method for providing a fuel includes removing hydrogen sulfide and/or carbon dioxide from biogas to provide partially purified biogas, which is filled in a mobile storage system. The partially purified biogas is transported to a centralized processing facility, in the mobile storage system, by truck, rail, or ship. At the centralized processing the partially purified biogas is further processed, either to produce a fuel that is renewable or has renewable content, or to produce renewable natural gas, which is used to produce the fuel that is renewable or has renewable content.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SULPHUR CYCLE-BASED ADVANCED DENITRIFICATION OF WASTE WATER COUPLING AUTOTROPHIC DENITRIFICATION AND HETEROTROPHIC DENITRIFICATION
20210317025 · 2021-10-14 ·

The present invention provides a device and method for sulphur cycle-based advanced denitrification of wastewater coupling autotrophic denitrification and heterotrophic denitrification, and belongs to the technical field of wastewater treatment. The unit generating hydrogen sulfide during the wastewater treatment process adopts a lye to absorb hydrogen sulfide; the absorbed sulfide is introduced into an anoxic tank that removes nitrate nitrogen through sulfur-based autotrophic denitrification; and the remaining organic matters in the anaerobic methane-producing reaction tank are subjected to heterotrophic denitrification in the anoxic tank, and the anoxic unit combines the sulfur-based autotrophic denitrification with the heterotrophic denitrification of organic matters. The coupling of sulfur-based autotrophic denitrification and heterotrophic denitrification strengthens the removal of nitrate nitrogen. The biogas desulfurization process system only absorbs hydrogen sulfide and uses the absorbed sulfide in an anoxic system to realize the recovery and utilization of sulfur.

Gas separation device
