ADHESIVELY-BONDED WATER SEPARATION CARTRIDGE MODULE
20220250006 · 2022-08-11 ·

A submersible water desalination apparatus includes an array of generally parallel water separation membrane cartridges each having a water separation membrane, an impermeable cartridge wall surrounding the membrane, and a product water collection tube that collects from inside the cartridges at least partially desalinated product water passing through the membrane, and through which the at least partially desalinated water exits the cartridges and enters a product water collection manifold. The cartridges are mounted in a perforated divider plate. In embodiments, a) the manifold is adhesively bonded to a plurality of the collection tubes, orb) the divider plate is adhesively bonded to a plurality of the cartridge walls or ends, or both a) and b). The adhesive reduces the likelihood of leakage at the manifold or divider plate.

SUBMERGED WATER DESALINATION SYSTEM WITH PRODUCT WATER PUMP CAVITATION PROTECTION
20220250950 · 2022-08-11 ·

A submersible water desalination apparatus includes a plurality of water separation membrane elements, a product water collector that receives product water from the membrane elements, and a variable output motorized submersible pump having a suction side that receives product water from the product water collector and a discharge side that pumps product water away from the apparatus through a product water conduit for surface or subsurface use. An automatic control or coupling is employed to reduce the pump output upon the occurrence or onset of suction side cavitation, and discourage or prevent cavitation over a range of product water flow rates from the membrane elements.

At least a portion of the product water is used to lubricate and optionally also cool at least a portion of the pump, motor or both the pump and motor.

APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ACIDIC AQUEOUS SOLUTION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACIDIC AQUEOUS SOLUTION

An apparatus (100) for producing an acidic aqueous solution includes: an electrodialyzer (110) that has a monovalent ion perm-selective ion-exchange membrane and separates wastewater containing chloride ions and alkali metal ions into electrodialysis concentrated water and electrodialysis diluted water by an electrodialysis treatment; an electrolyzer (120) includes an anode that that electrolyzes the electrodialysis concentrated water to produce an acidic aqueous solution; and a first circulator (13) that circulates at least some of the acidic aqueous solution to the wastewater supplied to the electrodialyzer (110), and that adjusts a pH of the wastewater supplied to the electrodialyzer to 3 to 9.

PREPARATION METHOD FOR RECYCLING INORGANIC SALT IN PRINTING AND DYEING WASTEWATER

The present application relates to a preparation method for recycling inorganic salt in printing and dyeing wastewater and comprises the following process steps: S1, performing impurity removal, softening, COD removal and decoloration on reverse osmosis (RO) membrane concentrated water to obtain pretreated wastewater; S2, performing two-stage electrodialysis on the wastewater obtained in step S1: returning fresh water obtained in a first-stage electrodialysis desalination chamber to a front end of the RO process, and taking saline water obtained in a concentration chamber as raw water of a second-stage electrodialysis desalination chamber and a second-stage electrodialysis concentration chamber; and returning the fresh water obtained by the second-stage electrodialysis desalination chamber to the first-stage electrodialysis concentration chamber; and S3, dealkalizing the concentrated saline water obtained in the step S2 and then adjusting the pH value to obtain concentrated saline water capable of being reused for cloth dyeing in a printing and dyeing mill.

Molecular separations process

A molecular separation method can include: passing a deasphalted oil stream through a reactor containing an active substrate, wherein the catalytic active substrate adsorbs heteroatom species from the deasphalted oil stream and produces a pretreated hydrocarbon feed stream essentially free of 4+ ring aromatic molecules (ARC 4+ species), metal species, and heteroatom species; and chromatographically separating with a simulated moving bed apparatus or a true moving bed apparatus (SMB/TMB) the pretreated hydrocarbon feed stream into a saturate fraction and an aromatics fraction.

Salt separation and destruction of PFAS utilizing reverse osmosis and salt separation

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are destroyed by oxidation in supercritical conditions. PFAS in water is concentrated in a reverse osmosis step and salt from the resulting solution is removed in supercritical conditions prior to destruction of PFAS in supercritical conditions.

REVERSE OSMOSIS CENTRIFUGE

The reverse osmosis centrifuge converts rotational energy into fluid velocity and conserves the energy placed into the concentrate. As concentrate travels back towards the center of the reverse osmosis centrifuge, the velocity of the fluid is converted into rotational force, thus conserving energy. To accomplish this, the reverse osmosis centrifuge includes a stationary cylindrical housing having a vacuum chamber and a vacuum pump for generating vacuum pressure in the vacuum chamber, a driveshaft coupled to a membrane cylinder rotatable within the stationary cylindrical housing, the membrane cylinder having a plurality of vertical desalination membranes, and an energy recovery turbine. The reverse osmosis centrifuge can be placed on the concentrate or waste stream outlet of a desalination or reverse osmosis facility to increase freshwater production. Through using the methods described above, plant water production can be increased up to 40%, which in turn has a dramatic effect on plant profitability.
