Fluid treatment assemblies may include first and second end pieces, at least one fluid treatment unit positioned between the first and second end pieces, and a retainer extending between the first and second end pieces and arranged to press the fluid treatment unit(s) and the first and second end pieces together. Each of the end pieces is formed from a nonmetallic material and has a flexural modulus of at least about 1.5×10.sup.6 psi.

Filtering membrane module and filtering apparatus having the same

A filtering membrane module and a filtering apparatus having the same, which is capable of remarkably reducing a vibration of filtering membrane module during an aeration process for a maintenance cleaning of filtering membrane, and preventing a crack from occurring in the filtering membrane module by the vibration, wherein the filtering membrane module comprises a filtering membrane; a header, to which the filtering membrane is potted, including a first lateral side and a second lateral side opposite to the first lateral side; a first coupling unit provided at the first lateral side; and a second coupling unit provided at the second lateral side.

Cartridge type hollow fiber membrane module

A cartridge type hollow fiber membrane module includes: a cartridge type hollow fiber membrane element including a hollow fiber membrane bundle, a distribution cylinder, and an adhesive resin portion; a module case including a module case main body portion which has at least one port corresponding to a supply outlet of filtrate or an undiluted solution on a side surface, and a header which has a port corresponding to a supply outlet of filtrate or an undiluted solution, and accommodating the cartridge type hollow fiber membrane element; a first sealing member disposed to come into contact with the distribution cylinder and the header on an external side of a boundary surface between the supporting portion and the adhesive resin portion; and a second sealing member disposed to come into contact with an outer circumference portion of the distribution cylinder and the module case main body portion.

WATER PURIFICATION DEVICE, AND METHOD USING WATER PURIFICATION DEVICE TO FILTER WATER

A water purification device, including a first pressure cylinder, a second pressure cylinder, a first connecting piece and a second cylinder block arranged successively from bottom to top, and further comprising a first cylinder block arranged inside the second cylinder block. The first pressure cylinder and the second pressure cylinder both are open at one end and formed with a first through-hole at the other end; the first cylinder block and the second cylinder block both are open at two ends and arranged in a hollow shape. A water inlet, which is communicated with first flow passages formed between the first cylinder block and the second cylinder block, is formed on the second cylinder block, and a water outlet pipe, communicated with the first cylinder block, is inserted into an outer wall of the water purification device.

Gas Separation Module and Assembly

A gas separation module and assembly for housing ceramic tubular membranes. The module includes a plurality of tubes containing the ceramic tubular membranes. The tubes are arranged parallel to one another and are supported by tube sheet plates at each end. Gas-tight seals surround each membrane, preventing a feed gas and a residue gas within the inner lumen of the membrane from mixing with a permeate gas in the tube interior. The module also contains a gas distribution pipe for withdrawing the permeate gas out of, or introducing a sweep gas into, the module. This configuration allows for ceramic tubular membranes to be modularized for use in an assembly that carries out many types of gas separations.

Apparatus and methods for changing the concentration of gases in liquids

Apparatus, and components for use in apparatus, for changing the concentration of a selected gas in a liquid, for example for degassing liquids. In one apparatus, the apparatus has a flow channel (a) through which the liquid is passed, and (b) which comprises a wall comprising a planar separation membrane, and (c) has a height of 0.00025-0.01 and an aspect ratio (width to height) of at least 25:1. One component, which can be used to support a separation membrane, comprises (a) an inner selection plate surface which comprises (i) a selection plate base and (ii) selection plate elements which (a) extend from the base, (b) are separated by intercommunicating selection areas, and (c) have outer surfaces remote from the selection plate base. Another component is a planar separation membrane which comprises (a) a membrane transmission section, and (b) a membrane peripheral member which surrounds the membrane transmission section and which includes location features which facilitate the location of the membrane at a desired position relative to another component.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SINGLE-PIECE COLUMN STRUCTURE FOR THE SEPARATION OF A FLUID MEDIUM

A method of manufacturing a separator element for obtaining molecular and/or particulate separation by tangential flow of a fluid medium for treatment into a filtrate and a retentate, the element having a structure (2) of at least two porous rigid columns (3) made of the same material, positioned side by side to define, outside their outside walls, a volume (4) for recovering the filtrate, each column (3) presenting, internally, at least one open structure (5) for passing a flow of the fluid medium, opening out in one of the ends of the porous column for inlet of the fluid medium for treatment, and in the other end for outlet of the retentate. The element is a single-piece rigid structure (2) made as a single piece that is uniform and continuous throughout, without any bonds or exogenous additions.

A potting system comprising a potting unit having an integrated compressible seal formed from the same material that the potting unit is composed of.

Gas separation membrane module and gas separation method

A process for producing nitrogen-rich air by feeding high temperature air at 150° C. or more to an air separation membrane module is described. After being placed at 175° C. for two hours, the air separation module exhibits a shape-retention ratio of 95% or more in one embodiment. The nitrogen-rich air can be fed to a fuel tank for an aircraft, for example.
