Portable Dialysis Machine with Improved Reservoir Heating System
The specification discloses a portable dialysis machine having a detachable controller unit and base unit with an improved reservoir heating system. The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The base unit has a reservoir with an internal pan and external pan, separated by a space that holds a heating element. The heating element is electrically coupled to electrical contacts attached to the external surface of the external pan.
SPACERS FOR ION-EXCHANGE DEVICE
Provided are spacers, ion-exchange devices comprising spacers, and methods of preparing spacers for improved fluid distribution and sealing throughout an ion-exchange device. These spacers can include an internal cavity surrounded by a perimeter of the spacer. The perimeter can have a first opening and a second opening within the perimeter, and the first opening and the second opening can be located on opposite sides of the internal cavity. The spacers can also have a first and second plurality of channels located within the perimeter, wherein each channel of the first and second plurality of channels extends from the internal cavity towards the first opening or the second opening.
Hybrid irrigation tubing
Features of relatively low pressure microporous (and preferably plant-responsive) irrigation tubes are combined with features of relatively high pressure drip emitter tubes to produce a hybrid irrigation tube. Methods for using and manufacturing the hybrid irrigation tube are also disclosed.
Membrane filtration system and membrane bioreactor including the same
A membrane filtration system, capable of effectively removing foreign matter attached to a separation membrane while saving energy by reciprocating the separation membrane, includes a treatment bath, a membrane support frame disposed in the treatment bath, a separation membrane module installed in the membrane support frame, a reciprocating part connected with the membrane support frame to reciprocate the membrane support frame, and a sludge floating part disposed on a lower end of the membrane support frame to float sludge accumulated in the treatment bath. The separation membrane module includes an upper frame, a lower frame, and a hollow fiber membrane provided between the upper frame and the lower frame.
Tangential flow filter system for the filtration of materials from biologic fluids
Systems and methods for filtering materials from biologic fluids are discussed. Embodiments may be used to filter cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from a human or animal subject. In an example, CSF is separated into a permeate and retentate using a tangential flow filter. The retentate is filtered again and then returned to the subject with the permeate. During operation of the system, various parameters may be modified, such as flow rate and waste rate.
Portable dialysis machine
The specification discloses a portable dialysis machine having a detachable controller unit and base unit. The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The base unit has a planar surface for receiving a container of fluid, a scale integrated with the planar surface, a heater in thermal communication with the planar surface, and a sodium sensor in electromagnetic communication with the planar surface. Embodiments of the disclosed portable dialysis system have improved structural and functional features, including improved modularity, ease of use, and safety features.
Membrane Pocket Module Having Rotationally Secured Deflection Discs
The invention relates to membrane modules, in particular membrane pocket modules, which comprise membrane pocket stacks which are disposed in a housing having at least one feed inlet, at least one retentate outlet, and at least one permeate outlet. The invention also relates to the use of the membrane module according to the invention for separating mixtures of liquids and/or gases. The membrane of the previously known type, also referred to as a GS module, comprises a housing which for forming a container interior space by means of finisher discs at two end sides is closed in a pressure-tight manner. The finisher discs comprise at least one feed inlet, at least one retentate outlet, and one permeate outlet, wherein at least one membrane pocket stack which has a plurality of membrane pockets which are lined up beside one another and are mutually separated by seals and which are push-fitted onto a permeate tube is disposed in the container interior space. The permeate tube protrudes beyond the at least one permeate outlet of the finisher discs. The membrane module according to the invention is characterized in that the permeate tube and the permeate outlet of the finisher discs are aligned in an alternating manner by way of a key-and-groove connection.
Central tube component of filter element and manufacturing method thereof
A central tube assembly for a filter cartridge and a manufacturing method for the central tube assembly are provided. The central tube assembly includes a first half-tube defines a first flow passage, and having a first water inlet at an end thereof and a water output hole in a side wall thereof a filtering membrane bent to form a first membrane layer and a second membrane layer, the first half-tube being disposed between the first membrane layer and the second membrane layer; an input-water filtering net connected to the first half-tube and disposed between the first membrane layer and the second membrane layer a second half-tube disposed outside of a bending of the filtering membrane, defining a second flow passage, and having a water input hole in a side wall thereof and a first water outlet at an end thereof and a produced-water filtering net.
SPIRAL MEMBRANE MODULE
Provided is a spiral membrane module which is suitable for being set up in the vertical direction since at one end of its pressure vessel, the supply of feed liquid and the discharge of concentrated liquid can be attained.
