SELF-PURGING WATER PRESSURE REGULATOR AND REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM HAVING A SELF-PURGING WATER PRESSURE REGULATOR
A self-purging water pressure regulator and system using same is disclosed. The self-purging water pressure regulator includes a housing assembly and a chamber within the housing assembly. The housing assembly has a housing assembly inlet and a housing assembly outlet. Within the housing assembly are a plunger and a piston, each having and open position and a closed position. A biasing element within the housing assembly exerts a force on the plunger that biases the plunger and piston into the closed position. The plunger and piston are in the open position if water exerts a second force on the piston that exceeds the force. The housing assembly further includes a bypass channel. The bypass channel provides fluid communication between the housing assembly inlet and the housing assembly outlet. The bypass channel allows air to continuously escape even in the closed position.

A biocompatible polymeric membrane includes pores defined between two material layers, where the first membrane material layer includes strips, and the second membrane material binds to each of the plurality of first membrane material layer strips includes a plurality of windows exposing each of the first membrane material strips. The biocompatible polymeric filtration membrane comprises pores defined by uniform passages defined by the first membrane material layer strips and the second membrane material layer within each window.
SEPARATION MEMBRANE MODULE AND LIQUID TREATMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
A separation membrane module 100 of the present invention includes: a container 10; a degassing membrane element 20 that is disposed inside the container 10; and a separation membrane element 60 that is disposed inside the container 10, is located upstream or downstream of the degassing membrane element 20 in a flow direction of a liquid to be treated, and filters the liquid. The separation membrane element 60 is for example, an NF membrane element or an RO membrane element.
Centrifugal force-based nanoparticle separation apparatus and method for separating nanoparticles using the same
The present invention relates to a centrifugal force-based nanoparticle separation apparatus and method. Specifically, the present invention is based on having a low centrifugal force and a small size, and may thus separate nanovesicles unrelated to antibody specificity in a short time and without using an ultracentrifuge. Further, the present invention requires no additional professional personnel and enables accurate fluid measurement by integrating and automating all processes after sample injection, and may thus reduce the loss of nanovesicles.
VENTING SYSTEM FOR A MIXING APPARATUS
A filter unit for a mixing apparatus includes a hydrophilic filter and a hydrophobic vent filter. The hydrophilic filter is configured to receive a fluid including a liquid and gas. The hydrophilic filter is further configured to sterilize the liquid. The hydrophobic vent filter is configured to receive the gas from the hydrophilic filter. The hydrophobic vent filter further includes a vent and a membrane configured to separate an interior of the filter unit from an exterior of the filter unit, the gas being vented from the filter unit by flowing across the membrane and out of the vent. In some embodiments, the filter unit further includes a defoaming device configured to receive gas, foam comprised the liquid containing trapped gas, and some of the liquid from the hydrophilic filter and is further configured to release at least some of the gas from the foam.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REUSING WASTEWATER BY USING REVERSE OSMOSIS
A method for reusing wastewater by using reverse osmosis, according to the present invention, provides a method for preparing pure water through a primary reverse osmosis step, a secondary reverse osmosis step, a foam generation step, and a reverse osmosis membrane washing step. The present invention prepares pure water through several reverse osmosis steps, thereby enabling prepared pure water to be immediately used as industrial water, and washes a reverse osmosis membrane with foam, thereby improving washing efficiency and saving on maintenance costs of a wastewater reuse apparatus.
FILTRATION ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR MICROBIOLOGICAL TESTING
The invention concerns a filtration assembly for microbiological testing and a method of using the filtration assembly for that purpose. The filtration assembly (1) comprises a ring-like membrane support (10) holding a filtration membrane (11), a cylindrical reservoir (20) of which opposite axial ends have openings and one axial opening is removably and fluid-tightly attachable to the membrane support (10) to define a sample volume adjacent to the filtration membrane (11) on one axial side of the membrane support (10); and a lid device (40) removably and fluid tightly attachable to the other axial opening of the reservoir (20) to close the opening. Further, the lid device (40) is removably and fluid tightly attachable to the membrane support (10) so as to seal the one axial side of the membrane support (10) from the environment.
Sludge dehydrator
The “sludge dehydrator” equipment is a machine that permits to remove low turbidity water from sludge or watery pastes of industrial or mining origin, with the following objectives: To optimize ore recovery processes such as flotation by means of an increase of the sludge density; To thicken sludge or watery pastes for optimizing the filtering and drying processes, as well as to dispose of mining tailings; To concentrate and dispose of solids in suspension and to recover and recycle clean or clarified water. The “sludge dehydrator” equipment has been designed on the basis of a rectangular tank provided with the necessary infrastructure for containing inside a series of suction plates being connected to a vacuum system, through which the process of solid-liquid separation is carried out and, on the other hand, to contain the cleaning mechanism—the cleaning car—with its motor system made up by pneumatic or hydraulic components required to clean suction plates the filtering medium and to keep them permanently operative. In accordance with the “sludge dehydrator” feeding and the design of the lower or bottom cone of the rectangular tank will benefit to be derived from the industrial and mining operation.
