Drainage device and system for controlling discharging of concentrated water in water purification process
Provided is a drainage device and a system for controlling discharging of concentrated water in a water purification process. The device includes a valve cavity, a flowmeter, a transmission shaft and a control unit. The control unit is used for controlling a motion of the transmission shaft to adjust a liquid flow of the flowmeter in the valve cavity. The device inhibits an instantaneous impact of a liquid on the valve cavity to relieve vibration generated by the instantaneous impact; a special structural design is employed, which is favorable for controlling a flow of the concentrated water; moreover, the device is suitable for different pressure environments, achieves the objectives of small volume, controllable fitting area and small friction force; prevents leakage, and is easy to maintain and clean; and abnormal discharging of the concentrated water caused by water hammer and liquid impact in a water purification system is solved.

Algae harvesting and cultivating systems and methods for producing high concentrations of algae product with minimal energy. In an embodiment, a dead-end filtration system and method includes at least one tank and a plurality hollow fiber membranes positioned in the at least one tank. An algae medium is pulled through the hollow fiber membranes such that a retentate and a permeate are produced.
Biomimetically Designed Modular Microfluidic-Based Capillaries & Lymphatic Units for Kidney & Liver Dialysis Systems, Organ Bio-Reactors and Bio-Artificial Organ Support Systems
A technology that provides various modular biomimetic microfluidic modules emulating varieties of microvasculature in body. These microfluidic-base capillaries and lymphatic Technology modules are constructed as multilayered-microfluidic microchannels of various shapes, and aspect ratios using diverse biocompatible microfluidic polymers. Then, various semipermeable membranes are sandwiched in between these multilayered microfluidic microchannels. These membranes have different chemical, physical characteristics and MWCO values. Consequently, this design will produce much smaller dimension channels similar to human vasculature to achieve biomimetic properties like of human organs and tissues. By interchanging microfluidic-layers or the membranes various diverse modules are designed that act as building blocks for constructing various medical devices, various forms of dialysis devices including albumin and lipid dialysis, water purification, bioreactors, bio-artificial organ support systems. Connecting various modules in diverse combinations, permutations, in parallel and/or in series to ultimately design many unrelated medical devices such as dialysis, bioreactors and organ support devices.
PORTABLE VEHICLE WASHING SYSTEM AND METHODS
Devices, methods and systems are provided for preserving the surface of vehicles. The system includes a mobile housing such as a pull behind trailer that contains a purified water storage tank, a clothes washer and drier, a water heater, a multimedia filtration system, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) System, a discharge pump, and a booster pressure pump. Smaller satellite tank trailers may be serviced by larger system described herein to allow simultaneous washings. A high concentration SiO2 ceramic coating is applied with SiO2 concentration ranging between 49.9% and 64.1%.
TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGING SCALE FORMATION IN REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) AND NANOFILTRATION (NF) SYSTEMS AND A HYBRID FILTRATION ARCHITECTURE IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
The present disclosure is directed to filtering technologies that combine elements of continuous and batch NF/RO based on the constraints of the end-user facility to achieve a target balance between, for instance, recovery and power consumption, and to reduce long term operating cost of a plant. A method for extending batch operation into a second induction period with antiscalant injection is also disclosed herein, with the second induction period allowing for yet higher water recovery.
Method and system for operating a high recovery separation process
A turbocharger includes a turbocharger housing having an impeller housing comprising a circular cross-section. A main nozzle is disposed within the turbocharger housing communicating a first portion of a fluid stream to a first volute. A first auxiliary channel and a first auxiliary nozzle communicating a second portion of the fluid stream to the first volute. The first auxiliary nozzle is downstream of the main nozzle. A second auxiliary channel and a second auxiliary nozzle communicate a third portion of the fluid stream to the first volute. The second auxiliary nozzle is downstream of the first auxiliary nozzle. A valve assembly is selectively coupling the first auxiliary channel to the first auxiliary nozzle and the second auxiliary channel to the second auxiliary nozzle.
WATER FILTRATION DEVICE FOR AIRCRAFT GALLEY PLUMBING SYSTEM
A potable water filter for an aircraft galley plumbing system is disclosed. In embodiments, the filter includes a body attachable to a mount via a central threaded attachment stud. The stud is surrounded by a filter mount chamber and encloses a central flow channel allowing outflow from the filter body to an outlet port. Potable water enters the mount through an inlet port; an annular “puck” inlet valve extends around the attachment stud, sealing off the filter mount chamber when the filter body is absent and, when the filter body is screwed onto the attachment stud, providing for water flow throughout the filter mount chamber. The filter body houses a solid block of sintered carbon with a hollow core. Water enters the filter chamber via bypass slots in the base of the filter body and flows around and through the carbon filter before flowing down to the outlet port.
TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
The treatment system provides a feature that may reduce cost of the electrochemical plating process by reusing the virgin makeup solution in the spent electrochemical plating bath. The treatment system provides a rotating filter shaft which receives the spent electrochemical plating bath and captures the additives and by-products created by the additives during the electrochemical plating process. To capture the additives and the by-products, the rotating filter shaft includes one or more types of membranes. Materials such as semi-permeable membrane are used to capture the used additives and by-products in the spent electrochemical plating bath. The treatment system may be equipped with an electrochemical sensor to monitor a level of additives in the filtered electrochemical plating bath.
