REVERSE OSMOSIS CENTRIFUGE

The reverse osmosis centrifuge converts rotational energy into fluid velocity and conserves the energy placed into the concentrate. As concentrate travels back towards the center of the reverse osmosis centrifuge, the velocity of the fluid is converted into rotational force, thus conserving energy placed into the concentrate. To accomplish this, the reverse osmosis centrifuge includes a support shaft, a plurality of receiving tubes, a plurality of housings with filters therein, a plurality of departure tubes, and a permeate trough. The plurality of receiving tubes are coupled to a top of the plurality of housings, while the plurality of departure tubes are coupled to a bottom of the plurality of housings. Centrifugal force creates the permeate and concentrate. The permeate exits the plurality of housings and is deposited into the permeate trough. The concentrate travels through, and exists from, the plurality of departure tubes.

WATER CONDITIONING SYSTEMS

A portable water conditioning system is provided that includes a water conditioner, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a controller. The water conditioner has a plurality of conditioning stages that condition water. The plurality of conditioning stages include, in a direction of flow of the water through the water conditioner, a reverse osmosis stage and a deionizing stage. The first sensor detects a first condition of the water before the reverse osmosis stage. The second sensor detects a second condition of the water after the reverse osmosis stage. The controller is in communication with the first and second sensors and determines a health status of the reverse osmosis stage based the first and second conditions. The first and second conditions each include a level of total dissolved solids of the water.

CONNECTION DEVICE FOR A SUCTION APPARATUS OF A VACUUM DIAPHRAGM FILTER

A connection mechanism for a suction device for vacuum membrane filtration applications, includes a support for receiving a membrane filter or a filtration base, a cavity formed below the membrane filter or the filtration base, a suction duct which opens centrally into the cavity, and a ventilation duct which opens laterally into the cavity. The connection mechanism further includes a closing element which can be moved into several switching positions and which can block or unblock both the suction duct and the ventilation duct depending on the switching positions.

Device for Cross Flow Filtration

A whole blood filtration device is provided with a filter membrane separating a feeding volume and a clean side of the filter membrane from each other. The feeding volume communicates with a first feeding side opening and with a second feeding side opening. The filter membrane has pores with a pore size that ensures permeability of the filter membrane to blood plasma/serum and that retains blood cells. The first feeding side opening can be coupled to a first blood pump for feeding blood from the first feeding side opening into the feeding volume so that blood plasma/serum permeates the filter membrane and blood cells, retained by the filter membrane, exit from the feeding volume through the second feeding side opening.

Methods of manufacturing a multi-leaf membrane module and multi-leaf membrane modules

Embodiments described herein are directed to methods of manufacturing a multi-leaf membrane module for filtering product fluid flow (e.g., food products or wastewater) and such multi-leaf membrane modules. In an embodiment, a multi-leaf membrane module is disclosed. The multi-leaf membrane module includes a permeate fluid flow tube defining a permeate fluid flow channel for permeate, and a membrane sheet spirally wound about the permeate fluid flow tube. The membrane sheet includes two or more leaves. Each of the two or more leaves includes a feed spacer including at least one opening formed therein that at least partially defines a feed channel for product fluid flow therethrough and a permeate structure defining a permeate fluid flow channel. The permeate structure of each of the two or more leaves includes at least one membrane and at least one porous permeate spacer.

A method for the desalination of water, carried out in one embodiment on the basis of a borehole (4) in permeable coastal land, in which two internal wells (5, 6) are interconnected at the bottom, by means of a membrane packet (9), disposed such that the supply flow provided via the borehole (4) flows in a downward direction by the suction of a motor pump (7) installed at a shallow depth inside the well (5), with an ascending flow, pouring same to the marine outlet and the diluted flow (permeate) drains from the membrane packets (9) to the second well (6), which is hollow and at atmospheric pressure, where a motor pump (8) extracts the permeate for the use thereof, while in another embodiment the membrane packets (15) may be disposed in ducts hanging from a floating platform anchored in the sea or other salty water.

CENTRIFUGAL REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM

A reverse osmosis system includes a wheel formed of a hollow central hub, radial tubes fluidly connected to the central hub, semi-permeable membranes provided in each radial tube, a permeate outlet tube, and a concentrate outlet tube; a permeate collection tank; a concentrate collection tank; and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism rotationally drives the wheel while the source liquid is supplied to the central hub of the wheel, the rotation causing the source liquid to enter the radial tubes in radially outward directions and cause pressure increase on the source liquid in the radial tubes. The pressure increase forces the source liquid through the semi-permeable membranes to separate into permeate and concentrate, the permeate being directed to the permeate collection tank through the permeate outlet tube and the concentrate being directed to the concentrate collection tank through the concentrate outlet tube.
